This is my second purchase of this product. This time for my wife's new Domane+ due in any day. I bought one for myself last year almost immediately upon its release. I knew I was paying a fat premium over other similarly designed mounts out there, but I had an alloy one crack right near the bolt hole causing a sudden drop of the bars and a potentially catastrophic crash, which thankfully didn't happen.
This is a superbly designed product that performs exactly as expected. I bought an alloy adapter mount from K-Edge for my Knightrider light and it works flawlessly with the Silca mount, resulting in a super-clean cockpit setup. My only concern at this point is the long term durability of the little clip that that locks the mount in the track. Time will tell. So far, no issues.

Like the person above, I too bought one of these direct from Silca almost immediately upon release. I had a similar no-brand alloy version that cracked right beneath the bolt head, causing my wife's bars to loosen suddenly and nearly causing a catastrophic crash. And I paid roughly half for that one as for the Silca. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.
As for the rattling experienced by the other reviewer, I have experienced none, so I am guessing he got a blem. Seems like an easy fix. This truly is a superbly executed product. I run mine with a NiteRider light (purchased from BTD) mounted beneath for an ultra-clean setup. Hopefully, BTD will run a sale on this periodically.

I bought one of these from Silca for my Moots. The Garmin insert has a bit of play. Every other Garmin mount I have (Garmin or 3rd party) holds my 1030 snugly, but the Silca isnt snug and my Garmin rotates/jiggles in the mount by a few mms. Annoying, especially for such an expensive mount. It should be snug and firm, and sit straight in the mount. I have reported this to Silca and hope they improve the Garmin insert. I just got a response form their sales dept. that theyll pass my complaint along to engineering. Otherwise, its a thing of beauty, and the Gopro std light/cam mount is fine.
