I have a hard time getting a fit in cycling shoes. While Sidi's fit me the best, I've had troubles because one foot it larger than the other and I'm right on the borderline between regular and Sidi Megas. That turns into a case where I need to play around with insoles a lot to keep one shoe from being too loose and one from being just right. With the mega width shoes, I'd have issues with the heel cup being too loose.
With these, they seem to be slightly fuller in the forefoot than the regular Sidi shoes. The capstanboa style system has a wider range of adjustability than do other ratchet systems. With these, I was able to get a perfect fit right out of the box on both feet. The boa system is nothing short of awesome in combination with Sidi's padded tongue. My heel is locked down firmly - it will absolutely not move regardless of how much pulling on it I do. It's really pretty awesome.
The other big surprise was the rigidity of the sole. It's incredibly stiff and I can tell the difference in both comfort and in power transfer to other shoes I have.
So these have been good for hours and hours and hours of riding. Love the shoe.
Do note that the shoe will take about 15 minutes to conform around your foot after you put it on. I think it needs your body heat to help it mold into place when you put it on. So with these, given their stiff sole, it will feel like they are slipping a bit when you walk in them. After you ride for a bit, this will go away and they will be locked down to your feet.
What I don't like is the patent leather looking upper material. I prefer the more matt finish of standard Lorica. That said, this stuff is bulletproof and they continue to look like they just came out of the box after much use.
The other thing, and this is not just a Sidi gripe. but the insoles that comes with these are junk. Plan on getting a good set of cycling specific insoles that match your arch height.

I put off purchasing Sidi's for years in favor of other high end shoes.
These are amazing-the ability to make either major or minor adjustments gives this a leg up.
Best bike shoes I've ever owned. Highly recommended.

These are the most comfortable mountain bike shoes I have had. The ability to replace the sole and the adjustment make this shoe worth the price.

I have put hundreds of miles of MTB racing and gravel riding on my CX bike in the several weeks since I bought these and they are excellent. I have owned 3 pair of Sidis (Dominators and Genius 5) over the last few years and they have been quite durable. When I decided to upgrade (my latest Dominators finally blew out a sidewall and duct taping them was getting old) I wanted to try shoes with the Boa closure, but had trouble finding any to try on, even at Specialized shops in the SF Bay Area. They had a few S Works or S Works EVO, but not both, and they always seemed to be out of the sizes I wanted to try on. So I ordered 2 pair of these in my best guess sizes from BTD and kept the one that fit perfectly. On paper these Sidi ratcheting closures are inferior to Boa closures because they require an extra step to tighten (you have to lift the bail to turn it) but I have never owned shoes with Boas so I can't say for sure. I will say they are a bit slower to tighten while riding than the old Sidi buckles, but they are faster to loosen. I was worried about the middle of the sole being slick when locating the pedal with the cleat, but that hasn't been an issue. I wanted 3 things in my new shoes and found them all 1) Perfect fit (the closures adjust better than Velcro), 2) little or no Velcro (I had problems with mud getting into the aged/weaker Velcro during CX races and not being able to get them to close until I rinsed them. We'll see how the ratchets handle mud this Winter!), 3) not made in Asia (I think all the Specialized shoes are, but these are made in Italy.) My only complaint, and it's not a big one, is that the rubbery tread block on the toe of the sole wears REALLY fast. They are replaceable, but I haven't seen just that part for sale yet. Seems like I might have to buy the entire sole, even though the rest of it is hardly showing any wear. I could probably improve the situation by installing spikes, but I don't ride with spikes in all conditions. I guess the other complaint is the cost, but sometimes you get what you pay for and this is one of those times.

I've been riding SIDI shoes for over 14 years, and decided to pull the trigger on Drakos. They are AMAZING. The adjustable heel cup is also a boon, as it helps the shoe fit YOU, not you fitting the SHOE. I'm an endurance/hundie' guy, and have not gotten one single hot spot on my training ride either. These are also my first MTB shoes with carbon soles...Hooked!
Accept no substitute!

slightly heavier than the S-Works counterpart, but seems more durable

Although still expensive these shoes will change your life. I had sidi dominators before and they hurt my feet. I did a century ride the day after I got these shoes and no pain nor soreness in the feet at all. The closure system on these is amazing and creates no pressure points. The only bad thing I can say is no spd screw in clips were included which sidi usually always includes the shimano type but maybe that was just my local bike store that does that. One other thing is when you first try these on make sure you have removed the thin cardboard type arch support sidi puts deep in the shoes many I have talked to said the shoe felt funny at first and then they realized there was a very thin cardboard type packing deep in each shoe. I am telling you for me to write this much on anything is amazing, the shoe is amazing. I use these on my road bike and love them, when you pull or push you really go!

When cost is no object, these are the shoes. I finally realized how critical (really) good shoes are (your connection to the bike, rotating mass, etc.), and stepped up. I only wish I had done it sooner (17yrs on the last pair of Sidi's).

Would have given 5 stars, but lack of sole plate between cleat mount area and heal has caused some dicey re-entry's after unclipping on the fly. The Dragon had a safeguard sole unit that prevented this issue!

This is my second pair of Sidi shoes and I love them. The new clasps are great and they are really comfortable. The price beat everybody and they got here quick. Thanks.

I bought the all black drake. It is very comfortable and can be set quite tight if needs to be. Best pair yet. Would buy again. About 580 miles total use so far and still like new.
Cons.
Looks like I am going to prom when clean. Whoever thought shiny black was optimal should not work in shoes. Except for the shiny black finish, love them.
