Good for the hilly ultramarathon events!
I normally train on a semi-compact crankset, but when the races get long and hilly, spinning a compact is much more efficient and saves energy through the laul haul. These Ultegra chainrings make that possible.

Generally better to get a matching Chainring with the Groupset
If you are running Shimano Front mech, this is a better option than 3rd party chainrings. not the lightest but shifting performance is optimized.
