Review by Charlie FalkReviewed 2/15/2024by Charlie FalkMiddleton, WIGreat for beach ridesWe vacationed on South Padre Island. Tx for two years. The beach is great for riding. To get to the firm sand you must cross the very soft sand to get to the tide line. Wearing the Shimano
sandals are perfect footwear for these conditions. They are waterproof and very comfortable with soft neoprene straps. They equally well with flat or SPD pedals.

Review by AnonymousReviewed 10/28/2023by AnonymousCycling EnthusiastColumbus OH Bargain priceI haven't worn these but Bike Tires Direct had my size at a really good price. Years ago I had shimano sandals but they were too big and awkward, so I only wore them a few times. I hope to more use from these.

Velcro just catches enough even with socks in the fall weather. I get crazy tan lines but feet are cool in the summer and fall with socks. I use to ride in the winter in my younger years but now too cold so these sandals are great for my biking (triking)
My old pair of Shimano sandals were a size too big but were using when I was riding a road bike to protect my toes. Was getting the 'hot feet' so only used a few times even with wide MTB platform pedals.
When I transitioned to the recumbent trike I was still getting the 'hot feet' with the older pair.
The new pair I purchased the exact/correct size. I ride a recumbent trike now and setting my cleats all the way back toward my heel eliminates the 'hot feet' Cleats sit more behind the ball of my foot. Happy feet...now I can ride longer in my neighborhood. Great price now and these are actually my backup pair : )

Review by MarkReviewed 9/6/2023by MarkMadisonGreat ShoesWent on my first ride today in SANDALS!!! Even a flat tire change didn't effect this great 20 mile ride. No socks, toes free to move around. The shoes climbed as well as my road shoes, but MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE.

We cycled together for 2 weeks in 100+ temperatures. While my feet were miserably stuffed into cycling shoes, hers were happily open to the breeze. For my next trip, I was equipped with these sandals. What a difference! Instead of being constricted in a hard shoe, my feet had room to breathe. And yes, I probably gave up a little in performance, but the trade-off for comfort was well worth it!

Unfortunately, issues with my feet have forced me to try these shoes so I can keep riding. As much as I hate to admit it, I find that I enjoy riding with sandals now.
Wearing these, move me from the older "competitive racer" category to firmly into the daily commuter or cycling enthusiast and possibly into the casual cyclist - just because of these sandals.
All the snark aside, there is something amazing not having to squeeze my feet into uncomfortable and narrow cycling shoes (a possible origin to the issues with my feet), so I do recommend these sandals.

Review by DavidReviewed 7/17/2023by DavidGilbert1 of 1 customers found this review helpful.Open-air FreedomI wear Tevas pretty much daily. These shimano sandals are a little narrower, which is good if you want to make sure they're gonna clear your brakes or crank arms. I've gotten used to the narrowness.

You might want to reconsider if you have narrow feet and the sizes fall in between US sizes often. I bought two different sizes, one for sockless riding and one for plenty of sockage. If youre narrower than a B beware.

Flatties a no go.

They're coming to the end of their life and these two strap ones are a nice replacement. They fit well and are very comfortable. They're easy to walk around in as well as cycle in. I'd recommend them to anyone that wants to cycle in sandals.

Review by AnonymousReviewed 8/24/2023by AnonymousFoot freedomThe sandals are comfortable to wear. They allow your toes to spread out instead of being crammed into cycling shoes.

This fit the bill for comfort and value. They look like they will last for years. The Shimano XT of sandals. I probably won't go clipless with them. The bolts for the SPDs are quite recessed so there's no worry of scratching wooden floors...

Review by finbarReviewed 7/14/2022by finbarCycling EnthusiastTacoma, WA1 of 1 customers found this review helpful.Used the Shimano sandals on a 2 week cycling tour and they were very versatile, in that they doubled as walking sandals. The only issue I had was the length of the straps, as I have high insteps. The company sent a larger size and that solved the problem. I liked the fact that sandals, minus cleats, can work as walking sandals as well, so less weight in my luggage.

Review by DuaneReviewed 7/14/2022by DuaneOttawa, CanadaBest cycling product I have bought in years I have been trying to find a pair of these for years. They are the best cycling shoes I have own. I often keep them on when I finish my ride and have to walk the dog.
Very comfortable and perfect when I ride my recumbent.

Review by Wiglet in KCReviewed 7/8/2022by Wiglet in KCCycling EnthusiastKansas City, MO1 of 4 customers found this review helpful.Lighter weight but don't fit wellI like that these are lighter weight than my other cycling sandals... however, they are too wide on me and they can't be tightened far enough for me - allowing my feet to slip around inside too much that it is somewhat dangerous when I need to put my feet down. Now, I have fairly expensive shoes I cannot use. Guess it's off to try and sell them on marketplace - hopefully to someone with wider feet than me!

Review by rakon107Reviewed 6/24/2022by rakon107Cycling EnthusiastAllentown, PAReplacing my worn-out Nashbar sandalsIf you like biking in sandals, then these are great! I was not too concerned about open-toe vs. covered toe, so not a factor here. A bit pricey, but not a big deal given the years of use I will get from them.
