The sizing might run a little large.

These are great - like Tevas with cleats - with a couple caveats

1- The sizing suggestions aren't really clear. Compared to my regular Tevas, the sandals are narrow (need to be so they don't catch on cranks or chain stays) but long. I ordered two sizes and the better one looked very long on my foot compared to my regular Tevas. BUT - the fit feels good, both pedaling and walking. If you're between sizes, go for the larger one.

2 - Be careful twisting out. Because they're like Tevas (which is what I wanted), your foot has much more play within the sandal than it does in a regular biking shoe it takes a much bigger twist to uncleat. I had one of those lying-on-the-ground-with-feet-still-clipped-in moments. As usual, in the most public spot possible. Just tighten the straps and be aware.

Bottom line - I love them for the short dashes around town. Haven't tried them for a longer ride and probably never will.

I live in Iowa where it is hot and muggy and love biking sandals. It has been very hard to find them but a local store had these but not in my size so I searched the internet and here I am. I found these on your site and am very thankful. They made my RAGBRAI ride very comfortable!

I don't like that they aren't US sizes. The ones I ordered are a size to big, but I needed them immediately and didn't have time to exchange. They still worked!

These sandals were the last piece I needed in my cycling life to complete the "weird old guy who rides into work instead of driving" lifestyle.

In all honesty, it's nice having the option to have complete ventilation on rides or wear them with waterproof socks for wetter commutes. Obviously they will dry out quicker than regular shoes.

They still click a tiny bit on hard surfaces from the cleats but it's not bad at all.

Happy with the sandals, very comfortable and hardly notice they're on when riding. So far I've rode more than 1000 miles wearing them.

Reading the reviews before I bought sounded like they ran small, so I ordered one size larger than my normal size. In my case they would have been a better fit in my normal size. Having said that, even the slightly longer sandle is fine, just a little longer than necessary. Still very comfortable.

Old pair of Shimano Cycling Sandals finally gave out after 15 years and I was happy to see Shimano still made similar product. I had discarded my old pair before I found these so I guessed the size and I was wrong. Customer Service was very helpful in exchanging them for proper size and they are everything I was looking for in a cycling sandal. I have put a couple hundred miles on them so far and they are still like new. Currently riding with Crankbrothers Candy 3 Pedals

This is our third pair of Shimano sandals. We wear them in the summer for the majority of rides on our tandem. We don't wear them for events or more intense rides. They are cooler than regular cycling shoes and great in the summer rain. It has taken longer to get used to this pair since they are less stiff than previous versions, which is more noticeable when standing. However, this increased flexibility makes them more comfortable for walking. We probably had about five years on each of our previous pairs before replacing them. My only complaint is that the metal slide on the straps is not rust-proof and will eventually rust since it is exposed directly to sweat. We use them with Speedplay Frog pedals and have had no issues. They seem to be sized a little large, but this is to protect your toes... as was explained to me when we bought our first pair.

These excellent Shimano Bike Sandals look great, just like normal sandals for street wear or work. While riding the platform or soles are strong and supportive, and the straps hold fast while un-cleating from the pedals. Plus the open sandal design keeps the feet cool while trekking down the highway or up a bike path. Maybe a little spendy but well worth it.

Great bike sandals, but I had to reorder one size smaller than my actual shoe size for the right fit. Extremely comfortable.

Love these for my spin classes, so comfortable and my feet never get hot but also seem very supportive even when standing in a hover or doing jumps. I really hate athletic shoes of all types because they make my feet hot and uncomfortable after a short time (it may be the liners). These are the perfect solution for me, just like my golf sandals that replaced regular shoes. I also was able to purchase these on sale with free shipping so easy to rate them a steal.

Had the SD60 for years and wore them 5 days a week for spin class...great comfort.

Unfortunately the new SH SD5 lacks enough stiffness in the foot bed...Not bad if you sit the entire time, but any time spent spent standing on the pedals in a climb will result in sore arches...consider these a waste of money for the sandal and the money it cost to get the clips installed for my purpose.

I cycle in a hot and sticky climate and so these shoes are perfect. In the past I used closed-in shoes and the shoe smell would be so bad that I would need to wash my feet after completing a ride because the shoe stench would transfer to my skin. Wash these off and you are ready to go again, plus they are not cumbersome to walk around in when off your cycle at your destination. Check them out but don't forget to order the cleats since they are not included. Best wishes to you and safe riding!!!

I waited a long time for these, had the originals long ago. Didn't like the replacements. Glad they redesigned.

I was going to buy a pair of these SH SD5 cycling sandals to replace my SH SD60 cycling sandals that have been my go-to for the past 15 years. As a final gut check, it went to a store and tried them out. Sadly disappointed in what the SH SD5 has become. The SH SD5 look great, but are completely lacking the stiff metal shank that made the SH SD60 so ideal for clicked-in riding. Thumbs down to Shimano for not continuing with the SH SD60 benchmark. Now I have to figure out what to do, because a cleated bike sandal is the best way to ride in the summer. Maybe look into some Keens?

Had a pair of these and loved them- until they were stolen out of my garage. Replaced them with a lake pair because cheaper- and that is what I got- cheap junk that literally fell apart- bought these again- happy feet!

I took a trip to Cuba. We biked from Varadero to Havana, a distance of 130 KM, which with the added lost distance was probably closer to 160 KM, over a five day period. I am 72 years old and these were the best cycling shoes I have ever had. Comfortable enough to walk around, yet plenty rugged for pedaling. I loved them. I am a Birkenstock wearer, so these bike sandals were the perfect answer for me.

Love em. Freshest my toes have been in years

I have a pair for the bike. I use them as much of the year as possible. It makes me smile when I look down in the winter and see the tan lines and am immediately reminded of pleasant rides. I have a second pair now. Both were purchased from BIke TIres Direct. I use them just like one would any other pair of sandals. The fit and flex are awesome. The wet traction is great. I even wear them into the class room as a full time University student. Can't say enough good.

Great in hot climate

After reading some reviews about this bike sandal, I was worried that it would be to loose and not appropriate for longer, harder rides. After riding up Onion Valley in the High Sierras my worry ended. This is not only a surprisingly stable and comfortable bike shoe, its comfortable for walking. Wow.
