Much needed improvements on an already great mountain shoe.
This new shoe has a larger toe box with stiffer rubber to protect your toes. The older version was lacking in that area dramatically. It also offers a velcro strap/boa closing system. This if far superior to the older shoes by a mile. The sole is stiffer and allows for more padding which is also welcome. Overall a much improved mountain shoe for all riders. I would have preferred some ankle protection on the crank side but didn't get that.

Difficult to clip in
Nice shoes except the cleats are recessed too deep making it difficult to clip in and stay clipped in
