As others have reviewed, if you are looking for an ultra-stiff, competition-ready shoe, this is not it. It's a high performance, quality all around shoe that is comfortable, competent and durable that is a good value. Fits to size and I expect this shoe to last long as other Shimano road and MTB shoes I have owned. The comfort of these shoes on and off the bike are their greatest feature IMO, having owned and ridden the high end as well I don't think I am missing much on the power transfer side. For their intended use they are a solid 5 star in my book.

I forgot to mention in the review I posted earlier today about these fine shoes; the BOA lacing system is terrific. This is my first experience with it. I just slip the shoe on, push the button in an twist it about one and a half turns. The wire tightens uniformly along the entire length of the opening. To remove, just pull the button out and the wire easily slacks up and the shoe slips off. It's a very clever system that looks as if it will also be very durable.

Great value MTB Shoe with respectable performance at the price point, exceptional comfort off the bike. I would recommend for most weekend warriors, if you are looking for a high performance, ultra-stiff MTB Shoe this is likely not it.

Plenty of room to wear even heavier socks when needed true to size they stay "locked" and don't sneak back on you and the feel good enough that you hardly know that you are wearing them also can walk down the hall (wooden floors) quietly in the middle of the night(night riding)

Shoe fits loose , really have to crank the boa down to get a snug fit. Sole bends a bit and is a grippy rubber for good off the bike maneuvers. Really leans more toward being a touring shoe than a serious MTB shoe. If you want a very walkable shoe this is pretty good .For MTB use there are better option especially at $xxx.

I have flat feet and I do a lot of "clipped in" year round trail riding in the North East... I'm aggressive, so my shoes get beaten up pretty bad. These have stood the test of time and perform just as good as some of the higher price range shoes. Comfortable, great fit, durable and cheap!

I bought these for trail riding and I am very disappointed with the boa tightening. The shoes are a little big. I originally had 43 but returned and went 44. Boa won't release at the end of the ride without using a key to release it. I can't recommend these

I ordered a size too small and they were very willing to send out another larger pair
Good firm flat footing but still has some give to walk-in and get that sandwich.
The lace tightening device is pretty sweet. And. It's guaranteed for life so don't worry. It looks like it's going to break. Shoe fits well and comfortable after a 3 hour ride
I'd buy these again

I have used these Shimano shoes for three months and they are far better than my previous Giro's. Easy to get into them and to tighten them on the Fly. Even when you are clipped in. They do not absorb water and don't smell when aired out. You need a pair!

I have a wide foot so I am not easy to fit for cycling shoes. Shimano met my needs in a big way! These shoes are very comfortable both on and off of the bike. Good traction while walking and reasonably stiff soles for power on the bike. Have ridden 50 miles plus with no hot spot issues. I loved them so much I bought a second pair for my wife!!

Bought these and they are very comfortable right out of the box. Fit very well and draw up nice and tight. Seem very well mad and should last for many miles.

I wear a US 13, and Euro 48, the largest size available in this product, usually fits me slightly tight, but these were more than slightly tight. I had to return them and shop for a different shoe. It seemed like a nice shoe.

Got this shoe in December so I haven't been able to give them a legit off road test. But they've performed well on a couple of urban rides. The boa system is convenient and snugs the shoe around your foot nicely.
This shoe may rate 5 stars after next summer, it could also drop to 3. But, so far so good.
