I have read lots of good things about Marathons, but my expectations were exceeded. The grip-especially in rain-is excellent. Rolling resistance (70032) is very good compared to my old Gatorskin 28s. Overall I am very impressed and would highly recommend them.

I first bought the Marathon Pus tires (700 x 28) for wet weather and my training bike. I live in New York City and these tires provide me with an enormous amount of trust and confidence against pot holes, steel construction plates, and battered roads. I routinely ride 50 miles or more on all kinds of terrain and surfaces (mostly asphalt and concrete and occasional gravel) and have never had a flat. I bought the same exact tires for my niece. Recently I bought at set of 700x 25 Marathon Plus tires for my custome built $XXXX road bike. These tires have good tread and having more rolling resistance and weight then the Continental Grand Prix (700 x 23) tires that I have rode for more than ten years. You would not want to race on these tires, but they are ideal for dependable safe long rides, and club rides too.

Where I live, we have lots of garbage (staples, nails, glass) on the road. Of every type of tire I have used, this is the best one for the most common types of punctures. However, the ride and handling do not hold a candle to my schwalbe pro one tubeless. However, would not trade them for training.

Very nice tires so far. They've only been installed for a short while, but I'm sure they will live up to my touring expectations. I can tell there's a huge difference in the quality as compared to the tires that originally came with the bike. The 700c x 45mm tires mounted easily to my wheels.

I've been rocking this tire on my back wheel for a couple years, and have yet to get a single flat (knock on wood). This tire rocks!

These are absolutely the best tires I have ever had. I road from San Francisco to Portland, Maine, and never had a flat tire...4,000 plus miles, and continued to ride on them when I got home for another 1,000 or so. I have them on all my bikes and will continue to use them as long as they are available.

I have used these tires on a vintage Raleigh Touring Bike for the past 2 years. With nearly 1500 miles on them I am yet to have a flat. My most recent purchase will put them on my hybrid bike as I prepare for a trip down the Katy Trail this summer. Best tires I have ever used. Make sure you get the Marathon PLUS tires...not to be confused with just the Marathon version.

I use this tire on my winter commute bike, 27 miles round trip daily over surface streets littered with glass, sharp objects and crumbling pavement. 7,000 miles over the past 2 years, with only 1 puncture on the rear from a rather large piece of glass. Pretty reliable tire for sure!

I am retired and ride thousands of miles every year. I ride primarily on asphalt, but a little on crushed gravel. The tires work great on each. The only thing I haven't liked about these tires are they are a little more difficult to install than less robust tires that I have worked with.

I get about 5000-6000km on a set of these tires. Great for commuting and great flat protection. Will use these same tires the next time mine are worn down.
Couldn't ask for anything else with these

I purchased the 700x32 size of these tires last year for a ride across the nation on the Northern Tier route. The tires easily handled my fully loaded touring bike, rolled with surprising ease, and handled very nicely. They handled some of my training miles and the 4,226 mile ride across the nation without a single flat. I love these tires. Don't be afraid of their weight if you are in the market for a reliable touring tire that doesn't ride like a brick!

I use these tires for road riding because I am 67yrs. old & consider myself a bike fanatic. I raced into my 30's but crashes almost took away my passion. The Schwalbe Marathon Plus (HS440) has raised my enthusiasm to new hights. These tires represent the best in cycling technology.

I mostly train for tours and, of course, tour-ride, so a little extra weight to avoid a flat is a fair trade. No flats with Schwalbe tires in over 3,000 touring miles. in the interest of full disclosure about 2,500 miles road touring, about 500 miles off-road touring on two (2) different bikes.

I bought these to replace my knobby stock tires that came on my Giant Roam hybrid bike, hoping they'd make commuting a bit easier.
Really impressed with the quality, very durable feeling rubber that should last for years and many miles.
They weren't that difficult to get on, and definitely improved my ride.
The tread is nice and deep-grooved for the rain, but I haven't been out much yet in bad weather to put to the test.
Definitely recommend these!

I ride two bikes throughout the year...a Road Bike and a Hybrid which is the bike these are installed on. Weather permitting, I will generally ride 25-30 miles three times a week. Puncture resistance is the most important thing to me. Although I've only put a couple hundred miles on them, I am very happy so far. I like the way they handle and based on reviews, I should be happy with their puncture resistance qualities. I also installed puncture resistant tubes for added protection. Let's not forget their looks. Very sharp!

This is my second pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus for a second bike. The first pair are on a Salsa Fargo which were used on a trip down the Pacific Coast from Vancouver to San Diego. BTW, we carried 6lbs of gear on the front forks and 10lb panniers in the rear. We rode 1,500 miles without any flats and is no visible wear and tare on the tires. They are grippy in the rain and on cornering descents. They roll nicely on packed dirt roads (fire roads) but a little slippery over wet rocks. These tires are certainly durable and I was amazed that we did not get any flats on the entire trip. Be aware that the tires are very difficult to put on a wheel and they are heavy (possibly due to the thickness of the tire). Perhaps once stretched out they will be less difficult to remove. I would recommend these tires for touring and commuting.

This is buying assurance of no flat. The rolling resistance is the trade-off, based on my 2000 miles of experience between the Marathon Plus and the Supreme (better rolling for sure).
