If you can get these on sale, they are a great value. Nearly $90/tire is hard to swallow for me, personally. At any rate, I have a set of these on our 1993 Miyata DupliCross MTB Tandem that I turned into a touring bike for me and my wife. These things are great on all surfaces. I wanted a robust tire that can deal with a heavy load and wouldn't have problems with whatever surface we were riding on. These are wonderful on gravel and dirt roads and paths. Very confidence inspiring.
The new Addix compound is a lot quieter than the previous "Evo" version of the tire. The older version lasted for many many miles and ended up needing to be replaced due to dry rot before the tread wore out.
Schwalbe makes great tires. I just wish they were priced like they are in Europe here in America.

I try to buy these on sale or with some discount if possible. They are kinda spendy, that would be the only negative I can think of. But that's not BTD's fault. Schwalbe tires in general are spendy. I got them on a discount with my Gold membership + I had some points to use. Anyway, I have a set of these on our Tandem, which is a 1993 Miyata DupliCross MTB Tandem that I turned into a touring bike.
I had to replace the rear tire as the bead broke in one spot. I have no idea how that happened. We are a heavy team, but nowhere near the max rated weight of the tires. It was several years old, so it could have just been time. The industry recommends replacing bicycle tires after 7 years.
We love these tires. They roll well and are great on rough surfaces and gravel and deal well with our team and our gear. I've looked at a LOT of touring tires and I can't imagine a better one for our use case.
