I recently bought a diamondback Sorrento....and yes, they are only entry level. But if you do the research right....you dont need to spend Gs on a nice commutter rig. All ive done is upgrade the seat to a prologo nago X8 and switched the stock hideous nuckles to schwalbes Mondials! Ive noticed the difference the moment i took the first stroke. This tyres are definitely smother and quicker. Currently running at 55psi. That will or may change after i explored all my routes. No...im not doing any hardcore mtb...just an old man getting a kick from getting groceries on style and efficiency on his new old toy.
I have only had these for a couple of months, but I have enjoyed the ride of these much more than my more dirt focused OEMs. For the about 5050 mix of dirtgravel and pavement I ride on my MTB, these are just about perfect. I notice some slip in the real loose gravel and sandy spots that I ride through, but I think it's actually less than the much more knobby tires these replace. Much faster on pavement. Easy to mount (first tire I have fully replaced). Got these for the puncture protection - no problems yet.
