Personally, don't care about sustainability but if that floats your boat ... The Schwalbe is a well built tire for daily rides especially if you find yourself on less than ideal road surfaces. The tread pattern accomodates all surfaces, wet or dry and rides well with minimal noise and vibration. The traction and cornering are good and mounting is easy. Reflective sidewalls are kind of 'fred' but seeing other riders after dark with illuminated wheels and knowing how drivers who are 'bicycle blind' in the daylight don't get improved vision after dark it just makes good sense to make yourself as visible as possible and live to ride another day.

I have run this tire on the back of our tandem for about a year, 40 miles a week. Only one flat, a small nail. The tire looks almost brand new with very little wear. I bought another to replace the front tire when it needs replacing.
