RnR Extreme is still the best lube--overall--that I have used. Considerating cost, lubrication quality, longevity, ease of use, and resistance to picking up gunk...still the best.
Yup, some other lubes are close to greatness in a few area, and are several are brilliant in one or two areas, but none come close when all attributes are tallied up. Works well for both road/gravel and mtb.
I generally follow the RnR recommendation; flood the chain with lube, then thoroughly wipe. Once treated, I will reapply much more sparingly; just 1 drop per link, and then a light wipe. Best seems to be to treat or reapply, then wipe down the next day before the ride.

I've been using Rock-N-Roll Gold for several years now. I don't believe in magic and any lubricant will wear off or get dirty in time, but given my good experience with R-N-R Gold I decided to try Extreme during the Michigan winter. So far so good, it seems a little thicker than Gold and really made the chain quiet. I haven't tested it in real wet dirty conditions yet but I expect it will perform as advertised given my experience with Gold. Just my 2 cents and advice, get two or more chains and change them regularly. I remove the old chain, clean it, and then put it in a coffee can covered with lubricant. That way I always have a fresh chain waiting. If the chain that is currently in operation looks clean but is creaking, I just freshen up the lubrication.

I have been using Rock n Roll gold formula for the last couple of years and it was a game changer for me. Very easy to apply, lubricates very good and keeps your chain mostly clean.
The only downside was under raining conditions or a lot of dust it goes away pretty fast in a long ride I would need to reapply.
This is where the blue stuff comes in. It is mostly the same performance and it stays a little longer.

Been using this for years. Great for dusty conditions. Chain stays cleaner than most other lubes Ive tried. Biggest plus is extended chain wear. I keep track of mileage on my chains. Always use a Park chain checker. Probably get 20% more mileage on my chains when using this lube. Less wear equals less rolling resistance. Only drawback is application. I saturate chain with this lube and it is messy. Learned to place old cardboard under bike when lubing chain. Keeps it off of my garage floor.

I choose Rock N roll over oil based lubricants as it simultaneously cleans and lubricates. The wax lubricates but attracts less dirt which should reduce link wear. No black, dirt filled, solidified oil accumulation on chain, cassette, rings, bike frame, clothing or fingers!

works one of the best chain lubes that I have used.

Just barely acceptable as a lubricant, because I have to reapply almost every ride. Chain stays reasonable clean. I would only recommend this to those who don't mind reapplying frequently.

The product itself is great. My only feedback is the removable cap continually drops in my yard and gets misplaced when I lube my chain.

I have been using this chain lube for a little more than a year. It seems to work very well and the chain doesn't seem to retain dirt nearly as easily as with some other brands. This lube also has some very low rolling resistance numbers associated with it from some independent tests I've seen reported on the internet.
