Very Good, but Not Great

I know there aren't a lot of reviews, so I wanted to add my input as an owner of both the FR160 and FR300. First of all, it fits very tightly onto a Garmin Edge bike computer... no concern about it either falling out of a Garmin mount (I have a K-edge with a Garmin mount) or the Garmin falling out of the Ravemen mount. Also, it's definitely brighter than the FR160, but that said, I was a little disappointed that it wasn't even BRIGHTER. I'll admit, I own a lot of front (and rear) bike lights - about 5 or 6 Niteriders, and one 110 lumen Cygolight Hotrod. I don't find the FR300 that much brighter than my 110 lumen Cygolight... so, therefore, it's very questionable if you already own a FR160 if you really need a FR300 at all.

The above said, let me add that there are improvements. There are more flashing patterns and the battery is bigger. Also, one thing that sucked about the FR160 was the rear mounted power/mode button. When I had my Garmin Edge 1030 Plus mounted on the FR160, the button was difficult to access... esp while riding. The side mounted power/mode button on the FR300 is easier to access, but when you push it (without bracing the light with your other hand), it tends to want to spin to the right inside the Garmin mount. So, it's not ideal. Actually, an on off sliding switch and a completely separate mode button would be more ideal... but, just be advised.

Finally, in summary, I bought mine on sale for about ten bucks less than retail from BTD, so, at that price, it may be worth it. I don't think it's really worth it at the full retail if you already own the 160. Don't get me wrong, this general design is a great idea, it's just the lack of lumens and the awkward power on/off switching that fall short of a 5 star product. Here's to hoping Ravemen will come out with a more powerful FR500 that also has an easier to one-handedly access on/off switch.

Thank you for your feedback.

Great Safety Light

This is a great safety headlight with a long battery life. I haven't used it at night as a headlight to light the road/path, but I'm glad I have it so oncoming cyclists and runners on a narrow bike path I ride on can see me coming. Others I ride with have this light, and it's visible from quite a way off, especially in the brighter flashing mode which is also good in traffic on the roads. I have a Garmin headlight that lasts about an hour and a half, even in its lowest power setting. The Ravemen FR300 is far superior, though I haven't tried a direction beam at night.

Thank you for your feedback.

Big improvements over the FR160

Bought this light for daylight use. It has much better daylight visibility than the FR 160 that it replaced. Last about four hours in the high intensity mode. The auto on off feature is not very good. Too many nuisance trips just moving the bike around. I dont use it. It would be really nice if it had connectivity with the Garmin light work. Overall though, a lot of good upgraded features from the FR 160. Switch placement and color LED to determine battery life, to name a few. Plus you can charge other devices from the light using the included USB C cable.

Thank you for your feedback.

Ravemen FR300 Headlight

I recommend the Ravemen headlight because it keeps the handlebar less cluttered. One mount for both Garmin and light - what's not to like? The dual sided mount feature of this headlight allows me to run it underneath the Garmin itself or underneath the Garmin mount depending on the bike/Garmin mount configuration. I don't useit to illuminate my vision as much as I use it as a visibility light in daytime riding. That said, I think you could get away with that if you had to. The charge life is pretty good, especially in the flashing modes and apparently it can be used as a power bank for your Garmin if you want to do that. I have not tried this yet.

Thank you for your feedback.

Looks great and lights up nicely

Garmin mounts on top of light. That is the main reason I purchased it. Since using it , battery life is good. Also aesthetically pleasing . Value wise I gave a 4 star but still bought. Happy that the light and Garmin 1030 are on one mount.
