I use these on my 29er, mainly on maintained trails, but the occasional terrain park. Really nice solid pedals. I am 260lb, and there is no flex or creak. Bearings are smooth, and the spikes are very aggressive, to the point that it takes an attempt or two to position your foot correctly - There is no foot movement once your foot is placed. There is also little to no chance of ever slipping off.

Three months in, and these pedals have failed - There is the thinnest washer inside the pedal attaching it to the shaft. The pedal came off completely during a ride with the kids (nothing strenuous), stranding me. The bike has been ridden on trails, and never downhilled, raced or jumped, so I really wouldn't expect this on a pedal at this price point. On examination, the pedal is full of shredded metal and there were a number of ballbearings broken in half. This suggests poor quality internal parts. Returning.

I was looking for a thin, not too big, quality platform pedal that was priced well. These Raceface Aeffect pedals fit the bill. They're exactly what I was looking for. The hex shaped removable pins offer a ton of grip, especially with my 5-10 shoes. I added the included washers under the pins to lower/shorten the pin height.

I ride in the SF area, hills, lots of em, using an e-bike most of the time. Urban riding can mean rapid stops, and wet conditions. For those reasons wanted a flat (non-clip) pedal for my bike. These pedals are perfect - the small studs provide the right amount of grab on my rubber soles, the pedals are not too heavy, and mount easily with hex wrench.
A winner!

I put these on my mountain bike and love them. The keep my feet on the pedals and the build quality seems pretty solid.
