Most of my experience with this light is as a daytime safety device to let motorists know I'm sharing the road with them. It's great for that purpose. It runs for 10 hours or more on a single charge in flashing mode, and I've had other riders comment they can see me from a very long distance away. I've used it a bit at dusk and during the night, where it's very bright. It has something like five settings, but it remember the previous setting when you turn it off and goes straight back to that when you turn it back on. Charging time is quite lengthy, but the payoff is very long run time. The quick-release is handy as well. The Lars Rover can also use the quick-release sold with some other brands (like Planet Bike), although the Lars Rover mount is slightly wider. The light doesn't get hot and seems very solidly built. If it fell off my handlebar (like my Planet Bike did on a really bad road), I'm sure it would survive just fine.
