Review by But it''s me!Reviewed 6/13/2022by But it''s me!Daily CommuterMemphisGood coverage with minor issue of spin part $This is my second Tectal SPIN helmet, with the previous version the non-NFC model. Not sure what NFC brings to the helmet, since I suspect emergency medical staff are probably not going to take advantage of it, given that only POC seems to offer the feature, and POC isn't exactly the most popular of helmet brand in the US, anyway. Regardless, no points deducted for that. Just extra feature that doesn't subtract from the helmet's effectiveness.
That said, the helmet comfortably fits my large melon, has decent airflow, and the visor helps to deflect sun, lights (especially the charming strobe users on our local MUP), insects, and rain. It's a mountain bike design, but I use it mostly for commuting on road and MUP, as I need the extra coverage it affords, thanks to the local drive intent on killing me..
So my minor gripe concerns the SPIN liner that functions as a MIPS replacement (guessing POC didn't want to pay the fee). It appears to work, with some rotational function to it, as my MIPS equipped Fox Speedframe Pro exhibits. The gripe is that the liner eventually breaks apart (separation of silicone and fabric) from sweat after about six months of use. Replacements cost $25, which seems excessive when you see it.
So, great helmet, but not so great to have to keep forking out $25 every six months.

Review by TrikeUSAReviewed 5/12/2021by TrikeUSACycling EnthusiastKansas but I ride all over the United States4 of 4 customers found this review helpful.POC ROCKSDue to 3 brain surgeries I want to protect my head with the best product I can buy. Having a visor is very important as well because I ride a recumbent trike. This is my 3rd POC helmet. I love the fit, protection, & style. I feel safe with a POC on my head. I unfortunately had a bike wreck a few years ago & had 3 brain bleeds. I thought I was wearing a good helmet at the time, but after doing research I found there was a better choice. I'm glad I made the choice.
