please replace my submission for the POC Kortal Race MIPS helmet review with the following; there were numerous typo errors in the original submission. Thanks.

New, improved, recommended.

This new helmet was a requested/fulfilled Christmas gift to augment or replace a POC Tectal Race Spin helmet. The receipt of the new Kortal disappointed in that the sizing is somewhat different (smaller) than the Tectal. A Medium/Large of the Kortal did not fit (as the Tectal did) and needed to be returned for the Large/XL size. New replacement arrived and fits properly. After several rides with the new helmet, I find the POC integration of MIPS/Spin technology is considerably more comfortable with or without a Headsweat beanie. It's difficult to comment on the ventilation as it is winter here in the Northeast, however, it would appear to be vented equal or better than the Tectal Spin design. Profile of the overall helmet shell is also different but more (?) functional with good coverage protection. The 3 position breakaway visor is another plus as it better facilitates safety in the event of a crash; it also provides off-the-face google/glasses storage. While missing the goggle retention strap of the Tectal, the new shape of the Kortal appears not to be an issue for strap retention. More importantly, the new NFC Medical integration stores all your important information in the helmet; in case of a serious crash, your medical/personal data can be read by first responders or anyone present by touching a cell phone to the helmet. Picture this . . . you are conscious but unable to ride/walk out, you can scan the helmet which provides your exact coordinates with the ability to send a text message with the info. Really love this helmet. Fits great. Rode in hot weather and it breathes well. I really feel protected.
