Fast with good wet pavement traction

have these in 700 x 28 and 700 x 35 on two different bikes. both seem comparably fast to GP5000 but with good wet pavement grip - important in Seattle many months of the year! widths came in a little under the claimed value on my rims. the 700 x 28 went on easily but the pair of 700 x 35 tires were a fight to get on DT Swiss 1800 rims, even with the koolstop tool

Thank you for your feedback.

Great tire but inflate larger than expected

Really fast and smooth tires with decent puncture resistance for how thin they are. I have these in 30mm mounted on Reserve 42|49 wheels and the front tire measures 34mm at 66psi (33.5mm rear at 68psi), it also has a more bulbous shape than I'm used to for Pirelli tires. I doubt I'm any faster or slower due to this fact but it just looks huge and the comfort is almost to good as sometimes I miss feeling more feedback. I've had at least one small puncture that sealed almost instantly with Silca's new sealant, I didn't notice until after the ride when I saw a few dry spots on my seat tube. Grip is also superb as you would probably expect, I haven't had them on wet roads but I'm sure they would be excellent there as well. These have been great for long rides on imperfect roads, my longest ride has been 85 miles and I didn't feel nearly as beat up as I usually do.

Thank you for your feedback.

Fast Tires!

I am running the 32 mm version @50/51 psi on 25 mm internal rims for road training on my gravel bike. Wow, these tires are fast, with a nice supple ride, and tons of grip at this side. I cannot comment on durability at this point, but if one is looking for a blazing fast tire with great grip and handling, look no further.

Thank you for your feedback.

Very balanced performance tire!

Waited until I had around 1500mi to get a review in for these.

Tested these in a range of conditions/road/light gravel. Ran the 28mm and 30mm on Reserve 25mm internal so they blew up a little bigger.

Overall I am really pleased - This is an amazing tire that I feel strikes a perfect balance of everything. Super fast, but not the fastest out there. Very good longevity for the speed and road feel you get.

Decent puncture protection (I did get two flats that I sealed no problem with plug. Both were on absolute terrible road debris area so no fault of the tire for the flat.

These tires EXCEL in the wet. Very confidence inspiring and not sure what tire I have run that gave me so much grip in wet/warm conditions. (wet/very cold conditions yet to be tested and is something I avoid)

This is a race tire, so it definitely isn't going to be the absolute longest lasting and best puncture protection, but they punch way above their weight for longevity/puncture and how much speed you get from them. Excited to try these in the 32mm version for the fall/winter season.

Thank you for your feedback.

Great tire, but the price has risen to insane

I really liked this tire. I ride this both on my Supersix in 30s tubeless and in 32c on my endurance bike both on 25internal wheels. They are supple, speedy, not particularly puncture resistant.

These for some reason have been listing for 105-120 usd which is just too much.

Something has to change, I already am holding off on replacing a worn set and may switch to GP5k as they are cheaper.

Thank you for your feedback.

I'm definitely Faster

I am 500 miles in and I can tell you there is either a placebo effect, which in itself a reason to upgrade to these tires, or I'm really faster. So far I have PR'd on a lot of the descents I take my bike on a daily basis.

I previously was on the P-zero race, which were the previous Gen tires. For people struggling to put on the tire, I suggest looking at the Tire Glyder. Tire came on within seconds.

Thank you for your feedback.

Will not mount on FFWD wheels

Will not mount on FFWD wheels. They seem out of spec. Never had issues with PIRELLI tires on those times before. Took extra tools and a fight to get them on HED Belgium plus rims. Won't touch these again.

Thank you for your feedback.

Pirelli's turn out to be a solid option to the Continental 5000

Ran these tubeless, 30 mm at 67 psi on Zipp 353's. Very smooth ride with great cornering, didn't feel as fast as the 5000's but just seat of the pants assessment.

Yes I think they are good but 5000's are less money and just as good, just say'in!

Thank you for your feedback.

Awesome

Fast, comfortable, stylish, decently easy to install and hold air very well. Best 32mm tubeless tires I've ridden so far.

Impossible to mount on ENVE rims

These tires will not mount on ENVE rims...spent over two hours and they will not fit. I have all the fancy tire installation tools and still no luck. First time in my cycling career this has happened.

Thank you for your feedback.

Perfect width, great value and effortlessly spins.

Set up tubeless and the ideal size for medium to fast group rides. No problem seating the wheel and the pop was smooth.

Initial thoughts after 1100 miles!

This is the first TLR bike tire in a 700/30 I have used. My previous tires were Continental 5000 700/28 clinchers used with Victoria latex tubes. This is a superb way to go if you want to run clinchers. I was hoping for two things with the switch of brands and type of tire. One was a more supple ride and the second was fewer flat tires. I had read a review of the Pirelli at "In the Know Cycling" and decided to give them a try. I have put 1100 miles on the tires so far with no flats. It is really hard to say if the ride is more supple, but perhaps it is just because of the lower air pressure I use with the larger size tire. The tires, both varieties, are mounted to wheels with a 25mm inside width. The Conti's were run at 60psi and the pirelli's at 55 psi. The surprise to me has been how well the Pirelli's carve through a turn. There isn't need of any mid course correcting as you descend. The Pirelli is heavier than the Conti, but the speed is identical over the same course. I would think the Pirelli would out wear the Conti because of the extra rubber in the tire. The Pirelli is about 55 grams heavier mounted with Stans no tubes than the smaller Conti and latex tube. Finally, how were they to mount, well this was my first effort mounting a TLR and it wasn't a problem because I have an air compressor. If you don't have a compressor then I would get the tire hot in the summer sun and then mount. Or if it is cold, put a tube in the tire, inflate the tube and let it set for a day or two and I think they would be very easily mounted at that point. Time will tell if these tires wear as well as I hope, but in the meantime I have been very pleased with them!

Thank you for your feedback.

Love These Tires

I have only been using the new Pirelli tires for a few weeks, but I really love them so far. It's amazing how a wider tire makes such a difference in comfort
