I'm a medium in Pearl Izumi shorts, except for this style. They ride up in the leg, the crotch slides out of place, and the fabric wrinkles all over. Unless you're more full-bodied, I would advise sizing down in this style or avoiding it all together.

I would definitely order this short again. Very comfortable. I do wish the leg grippers were a little bit more gripping.

In particular, this Pearl Izumi symphony model is great. Throughtout the years have owned several synphony shorts. What I like the most is that the panels provides great compresion support, the chamois does not move around and the waist band in supporting without being tight. Compared to the older symphony models, the material of the newer models is a bit softer without lossing its support.

The good thing is that the in-r-cool lining makes it easy to pull up your shorts if you are already sweaty. Oh - and they are cool. That aside, the fabric causes all the seams to be crinkly and the fabric pleats itself, even when you are seated. I have several pair of PI shorts, all the same size, so I am familiar with the sizing and fit at all levels ... trust me, I fill every inch of all of them except these. Also, the front of the waistband is comfort cut but there's an elastic all the way round it and it rolls up and twists and binds, so I don't get why they put all those cute belly seams in. I wanted to love them, but I can't. At least I got them on sale!
