Review by TexasRoverReview for Park Tool SR-18 Chain Whip for 1/8 Inch Track CogsReviewed 1/27/2014by TexasRoverCycling EnthusiastDallasTHE essential tool for trackpista-or any fixie-enthusiasts.I recently came across a 1977 Schwinn Paramount track bike for sale. It was in beautiful condition for its age. My dad rode a 1948 Paramount track bike as an around-towner when I was growing up-same color, metallic blue-so there was a nostalgia element too. I bought the Paramount, and knew right away I'd be messing with the rear cog, so buying the Park Tool 18 Chain Whip was a no-brainer. The original fixed cog was on super tight-probably hadn't been removed since the factory. But with the Park chain whip I had it off in a couple minutes for cleaning (and now occasional replacement with a single cog freewheel). Park Tool chain whips for either/both 316 and 18 are essential if you work on your own bikes.

Review by Pete KReview for Park Tool SR-18 Chain Whip for 1/8 Inch Track CogsReviewed 5/3/2012by Pete KCycling Enthusiastportland, OR1 of 1 customers found this review helpful.Good specialty toolThis tool is strong and well made. It is difficult to find one that fits TRACK cogs. The usual tool does not make a big deal out of the fact that it will NOT work on track cogs. I imagine this tool will stand up to years of use (andor abuse) and handle the job well.
