This is my third set of Mavic Aksium rim brake wheels, and I believe they are a good wheel for the price. The first set was on a bike that had a frame alignment problem, and I broke a couple of spokes because of that. The bike I bought this set for had a rear wheel bearing wear out after about 3,500 miles, so I thought I would buy a new set to use until I get around to fixing the old wheel. They offer a nice, comfortable ride, and they are lightweight and look nice. My only complaint with my recent purchase was the packaging, which was way too flimsy to protect fragile wheels. I sent the first set back because there were three big holes in the box, and whatever made one of them left a gouge in the rim. Both the original set and the replacement arrived with big holes where the rear wheel hubs were protruding from the box. Despite that, the wheel hubs were not damaged. On the inside of the box, there is a thin piece of cardboard glued on to protect the hubs, but it just falls off and ends up at the bottom of the box. They are great wheels for the price, but the packaging is a joke.

These are great every day trainers and are fairly light for what they are. I put 14,000 miles on my first set. Just recently purchased and changed to a new set. Still a great value.

I'd had a set of Aksium wheels since I bought my Ridley Fenix in 2017. They are very durable and have held up well to my 200 lb. frame and not so delicate riding style through all four seasons and well over 10k miles without much attention beyond occasional truing.

I ordered a new set to replace the OEM wheels which were showing signs of wear on the rims and spoke nipples. The new set came true and ready to go out of the box. I feel they are a good value if you are looking for a basic set of durable wheels. I look forward to years of service from this new set.

Haven't had the chance to ride them enough to give a long range critic. Put them on a rebuilt older bike.
