Does not fit standard bottles well. The bottles tension of the cage and off center design cause the bottles to fit in crooked. As a result larger bottles rub on my leg. The whole point of side loading is to use larger bottles.
This is also the only cage since I was using an old worn our aluminum cage where a bottle has fallen off the bike.
If I had not installed and gotten them so dirty on a few gravel rides would return for sure.

Replacement for a broken cage

Had no problems with ejection on a long bumpy gravel ride, including in washboard sections where I saw lots of other riders bottles down. For aesthetics, order one left and one right. I ordered two of the same and while I am disappointed it doesn't look perfect, I have no problems grabbing either bottle.

My Orbea Occam requires a side release bottle cage and this works perfectly. It definitely gets a death grip on your water bottle and doesn't want to let go, but that is probably a good thing for a mountain bike.

If you are looking to put a reasonably priced bottle cage on a bike when not obsessing about how the thing weights this will be your go to cage. Not a lot of color choices but white or black usually work right? I put one on an old mountain bike that only has one mount and a very low clearance between the frame and the cage. I think this is as good as it gets.

This is my favorite bottle cage. I have used these on multiple bikes and it will never drop a bottle.
