I had been using an older Bell Helmet and thought I was covered. It was a bit heavy, and "sat" on my head rather than cradle it. I read about newer Kineticore technology and went to the MIT lab helmet ratings. This was one of several that offered what science and engineering said would be better protection. I've only got one head, and being older I fall a bit. This fits my head and doesn't "sit on" my head, the strap keeps it snug. I believe I have a better chance of suffering less injury to my head if I take a spill with this on.

really like the fit of the actual helmet, but the non adjustable ear straps ruined it for me. maybe my head shape is abnormal, but for the ear straps to be straight the chin clasp would be inside my throat. when wearing the helmet the straps in front of my ears have so much slack in them they stick out over 1" from my face and would flap in the wind.

Have had many helmets over the years including prior Lazer models. Fit is an individual thing for sure but this Lazer Z1 checked all the boxes for me. Best fitting helmet I have ever owned. I always wear a vintage cotton cycling cap under the helmet. The cut of the brim allows me to wear it comfortably with the brim up or down. Also fits the contour of my sunglasses. Straps and buckles are just right. I forget that it is even on my head after the first few miles and even after 50.

I had a cheaper helmet and wanted to try a lighter helmet. I cant say there is much difference I notice in actual use. The main thing is Lazer Z1 looks better to me than the cheaper helmet.

Is adjustable enough to fit head band over ears in cold weather. Snug enough to feel protected, and light enough to feel very comfortable on long rides.

This helmet fits my oddly shaped oblong head perfectly. I'm able to adjust it and cinch it down so it fits snugly with or without a balaclava. I crashed on black ice last winter commuting to work and bounced my head backwards striking the curb. The dent in the helmet is a reminder of how important riding with a helmet that fits well really is. I wouldn't be writing this if not for this helmet and I'll forever know the value of a quality helmet.

bright orange color makes me more visable, very comfortable in hot weather, been above 100 for three weeks and lightweight. adjustment strap does not stay put, I stapled it.
