It rides smooth on pavement and well on dirt. It takes considerably less effort to pedal compared to the flat surface road tires I had.

These tires are easy to install and provide a great ride on paved surfaces but, they can hold their own on the trail as well. The paved roads of the Chickamauga Battlefield lead to more aggressive and demanding dirt trails that undulate along the Chickamauga creek. The Kenda Kross Plus tires provide a stable comfortable ride leaving the rider confident and aware of their capability on either surface.

This tire is a great compromise from a full knobby, it is a smooth ride yet you have the bite in turns ,,highly recommend.

Bought these tires because I had a similar designed tire as a kid back in 1984 and loved them. Yes, I bought the first 26er MTB ever made, actually they where just taking off then and perfect for the conditions of the area of eastern Washington, allot of us hunt off bicycles. If your looking for a tire that has less drag than traditional MTB tires but still need to handle the ruff stuff these are it! They work well in hard pack trails, logging roads and in dry silty conditions, even a little mud they still fit the bill. On pavement, well, ya think your riding a road bike and the price is less than buying some cheap tire from Wally world.

These came on a MTB/hybrid bike I bought for commuting. The daily commute is around 15km each way, with the late-day ride on blistering hot rough/high-grip asphalt you can literally cook an egg on it in summer. Off-road routes are usually on loose sand and crushed coral/granite gravel or packed clay, but haven't had any durability or "chunking" problems with these tires. On-road routes are extremely steep and hilly out here. The knobby sides on these tires are nice for off-road segments but force me to slow descents down at times to make sure I can hit hard turns without feeling the knobs start to bend/skid on hard leans.
These have been extremely reliable for hybrids. I don't really like hybrids because of the need to slow fast road descents, but considering the diversity required for commuting out here these tires are probably what I'll wind up buying again when the rear tire finally wears out. I'm at around 1500kms on them now, and expect the rear to last around another 500km or so at this rate save some accident. I store the bike inside and have exactly zero cracks on the sidewalls.

I pedaled my Trans-Texas Bicycle Odyssey 11JUN-08JUL2011, and this Kenda tire was used at the last moment when my other tire failed. I was initially concerned, but much to my surprise, this off-the-shelf actually, off a hanger at ****** performed flawlessly during my 1400miles2200kms route from El PasoTX to HoustonTX and partway back. The TWO flats I had were directly attributable to the tubes--the tire held up, despite exceedingly high temperatures and some rough road. I cannot recommend this tire highly enough, and always have it available--just in case!
