Nice stiff sole for cycling, otherwise great shoe you expect from Keen. Cinches up nice and easy. Everything I expected it to be.

I have both this and the Keen Commuter III sandal.
The Arroyo is almost there. The problem is that there is no strap over the instep so all the force is placed on the laces to hold the shoe tight. What that means is that if you only push down on the pedals these are fine (but then why do you need clipless pedals).
If you look at the Keen Commuter III you will notice that it has the instep strap. that goes across the top of you foot. If you have any experience with biking shoes, you know that this is the single most important part of the shoe. If you don't have this sort of support, then the laces take all the pressure and they loosen horribly. So, this shoe is not quite there. If you absolutely had to have this shoe, then I'd take it to a shoe repair guy and see if they could add this strap. Otherwise, it's better to go for the Keen Commuter III - a sandal that I highly recommend over this one.

My wife and I ride in a lot of tandem rallys, we have logged a little over 1800 miles this year. This shoe is great. It is cool, we live in a warm climate, very durable, easy to clip in and out, provides a lot of room for your toes and is easy to walk in. In the past we have used both road shoes and Shimano mountain bike shoes. These beat mountain bike shoes for walking completely eliminates any toe pinching the sole feels solid under foot. the clip is recessed enough that you get no clicking when you walk on floors...feels just like a sandal, yet they are still easy to clip in on spd's. They don't have as tight of fit as a normal road or mountain bike shoe, so you can feel some motion if you really torque your pedals, but not enough that I would go back to the other style. Have shoe covers that should fit for colder days this winter..or I'll wear thicker socks. Sizing was right on as far as length. Being a sandal they aren't as tight around the foot, but you can pull the laces tighter than you want. Very pleased with the product.

I would definitely consider this shoe again, once this pair is worn out!

I have the regular sandals of this style as well. I am very happy with these, the have adapted the draw strings to inelastic ones, so the sandals fit secure and don't shift. The toe areas seem a bit firmer than the regular sandal, which is good for pedaling. I use them with both toe straps and clip-ins, and have no complaints. Your feet get a pretty cool looking tiger stripe tan after a while. Walking with the cleats in is not conducive to hiking, but with the cleats removed and the rubber insert in place, they do great.
