The Roc Loc on my helmet broke and I needed this to make the helmet work again. I was glad to see that they were still available. Took off the old and assembled the new one and now the helmet has many more years of life.
The Roc Loc 4 retention strap is not as durable as I thought it would be but the purchase of a replacement made my helmet new again. It's great to know that someone stocks these small things to allow full value of a previously purchased item.
I thought my helmet was headed to the trash after some great rides together. However, I found this replacement part and I was very happy. The price was very fair, and the shipping time was fantastic.
My Giro Atmos helmet Roc Loc retention system had started to perish after several years of use and had reached the point where it needed replacement. As the new helmet is perfectly fine and not been involved in any impact, I decided just to replace the retention system. Giro put me on to BikeTiresdirect as they do not stock replacement parts at Giro. The ordering process was easy and the part very easy to replace. My helmet now has a new lease of life!
Well, this device does keep the helmet in position on my head, but this is the second one of these that I have bought over the six years I have owned the helmet - why is this thing made so flimsily? Not ever sure what broke it this time.
BikeTiresDirect had the best price on this item. Be careful, pay attention to the removal of the old unit. This will help with the installation of the new system. A few smart and gentle pushes of the tabs gives you the equivalent of a new helmet.
The plastic on the sides of the old retention strap fell apart, this is a direct replacement and is much cheaper than a new helmet. My Giros Zen was still in excellent condition, no reason to go spend $100 on a new helmet.
