This helmet saved my life. Bought it in April, had about 1,000 miles on it, replaced my old S-Works Evade. This helmet was sooo much better - cooler, lighter than my S-Works Prevail in terms of feel on my head, and you notice the low drag on the bike above 25mph - your neck feels it.

But why I am really writing this review is the Spherical Mips. Was just hit by a car that turned left right in front of me. I am seriously injured with broken pelvis and other damage after being launched by the car and crashing hard on the pavement about 20 ft away. I suffered a concussion and the helmet is destroyed (cracked foam, massive damage to the shell etc.) You see how the inner shell rotates with the outer shell. Freaking unbelievable what it does and I can say with confidence my head would be way more messed up without the Spherical Mips. Doctors were surprised I did not have brain bleeding. Thank you Giro!

I upgraded to this helmet from a 5 year old POC. I was concerned about summer riding, but so far this helmet ventilates extremely well in heat and while climbing. It feels fast going down hill and it's very light and compact. It's not as noisy as the POC on descents and it doesn't trap bugs.

Replacing an original Giro Eclipse Spherical MIPS, a fine update to an already good helmet.

Not exactly a bargain. But the Spherical MIPS has a great fit and it's a noticeably fast hat.

Would buy again.
