Just got my Giro Aries Spherical MIPS Road Helmet and couldn't be happier with it! This was my first time trying the Aries model, and I have to say ' it exceeded expectations.
Fit & Comfort:
Right out of the box, the fit was spot-on. The helmet is incredibly light and well-ventilated, which made a noticeable difference on long rides. The retention system keeps everything secure without pressure points, and the padding feels premium.
Safety & Tech:
The Spherical MIPS system gives me peace of mind. It's great knowing I've got that extra layer of protection without sacrificing comfort or weight. Giro nailed it here ' it's impressive how advanced the protection is without adding bulk.
Style & Build:
Looks sleek, feels high-end, and the build quality is top-notch. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design.
Deal & Purchase:
I picked it up from BikeTiresDirect at a great price, and the shipping was fast and hassle-free. They had one of the best deals I could find anywhere, and I'll definitely shop with them again.

I used the helmet for one year before the crash and it was perfect for fit, comfort, and breathability.
I landed on my back, and the back of my head immediately whiplashed onto the pavement hard with so loud a sound I thought the helmet would be trashed. While there are four markings on the helmet from the impact, it wasn't destroyed as expected.
Most importantly, I didn't get a concussion. I had a crash three years ago that involved a bad concussion, and you don't ever want to get one trust me. I could not believe how softly the impact was on my head, especially considering I cracked a rib.
For me, the choice is clear. The helmet must have Spherical Tech. I bought an Eclipse to replace the Aries for my road riding and will continue to use the Aries for gravel because it doesn't appear to be compromised.
There are other helmets that I think look way cooler, and I wish the Eclipse didn't look so heinously Martian Domed. I had just bought a Utopia Y on backorder, then right after the crash canceled the order and bought an Eclipse. Funny how priorities can change in a NY minute.

Replaced my old Giro Ather, I think, since the Aries is a updated 'Spherical' MIPS helmet. As a helmet it is exceptional as my previous one was. But, the previous model had solid retention of goggles/sun glasses which this one definitely has not. Take caution not to use it for this purpose and lose or damage expensive eyeware.

As with most "Premium Product" lines today, it is a bit pricey; otherwise, I have no complaints with the performance or fit. I've worn pretty much all the recent helmet offerings from Fox, POC, Kask, Bell, and Oakley. This Giro is nicer than every one of them (and it's a brand new model, so I expect that it should be...) and the fit is fantastic.
The RocLoc is a real treat, nicer than some of the previous versions, like the Aether and such. I went with the matte shark, which is a lovely primer-ish grey, and the old hot rodder in me appreciates the variety of colors we can get these days. I have a metallic pink Time road bike, so I'd never find a helmet that matches it. I wear either black or grey Sidi road shoes, so the appearance is perfect for me. If you're into race team fanning, they have a few of those colors, too.
As far as protection goes, I aim not to test that, though the last massive crash I had, a mountain crash that left me with a concussion and some significant injuries, was in a Giro, and while that helmet broke in 7 places, it stayed together, and kept me from worse injury. I keep it on my bike wall as a reminder that I'm actually mortal.
BL - Great product, great fit and finish, feels like a bandanna on my head, and the vents work great. Bike Tires Direct has a great price and IN STOCK (which is no small thing right now..)
Nothing else to say is there?

Love the fit and comfort. Very lightweight and good ventilation. On the downside, the ventilation causes a lot more wind noise than any other helmet I've had. It's still great.

I bought this helmet to replace an aging Giro Synthe II helmet. The Giro Aries helmet fits my head better, is better ventilated, has a better impact safety design & rating (see Virginia Tech safety website). Because of the better ventilation, I feel that the helmet is somewhat "cooler" than my old Synthe II. I live at 35 degree North latitude & summers are hot, humid and windy. My riding routes are lumpy and between 25 & 35 miles long. The Aries helmet does a okay job at trying to direct sweat away from my brow but sweat still runs down onto my glasses.
If you have a round head this helmet may not be a good fit for you. I think this is a very good helmet and may be worth the asking price. It certainly is for me. Keep turning the cranks! ??

I own (2) Giro Aether Helmets. One in Black and one in White as well as many retired previous versions. The Aether model are good helmets and I will continue to use them for now. I have been wanting a Giro Aires for some time, but the price did not make it practical. I finally decided to get the Sharkskin Aries gray version when it went on sale recently. In my opinion the Aires is the best Giro helmet so far. It is not as wide as previous versions with great venting and wraps around the top of my head much better. I like the Aires styling over all previous Giro helmets. I will probably buy some other colors when the price drops as the next version is introduced.

I recently purchased the Giro Aries Spherical MIPS Road Helmet in matte black, size medium, and I'm thrilled with its performance. The sizing is true to size, fitting my head perfectly without any guesswork. The helmet is incredibly comfortable, with soft padding that doesn't irritate even on longer rides. The head adjustment system is intuitive and secure, allowing for a snug, customized fit that stays in place.
Visually, the matte black finish looks sleek and stylish, avoiding the bulky appearance some helmets have. It doesn't make my head feel or look large, which is a big plus for aesthetics. Most importantly, the helmet feels safe, with the Spherical MIPS technology providing confidence in its protective capabilities. Overall, this is a fantastic helmet that balances comfort, fit, style, and safety perfectly. Highly recommend!

I recently purchased a matte black Giro bicycle helmet, and I'm absolutely thrilled with it! The sleek, minimalist design looks sharp and modern, making it a standout on the road. The fit is spot-on, with Giro's adjustable ROC LOC system providing a secure, comfortable feel without any pressure points, even on long rides. It's lightweight yet feels incredibly sturdy, offering peace of mind with its top-notch safety features. The ventilation is fantastic'plenty of airflow to keep me cool during intense rides. The matte finish is not only stylish, but also resists scratches and smudges. Whether you're a casual rider or a serious cyclist, this Giro helmet is a perfect blend of form, function, and safety. Highly recommend!

I'm really impressed with the fit system on this helmet. Really fit snug without any binding or pinching, I barely even notice I'm wearing a helmet. I've been riding seriously for over 30 years and this is be far the most comfortable helmet I've ever owned. The ventilation is good, yet still a very aero helmet.

Helmet is on the lighter side, lots of adjustments and fits great. Pads are comfortable along with straps. You know what to expect from a Giro helmet so no surprises here

Well ventilated, light weight, top marks in the safety tests, straps/buckles work well.

I currently cycle about 150 miles per week and I love this helmet. It's incredibly comfortable and airy and most of the time feels like I'm not wearing a helmet at all. I also have some peace of mind knowing (as of the writing of this review) the second best road helmet rating in the Virginia Tech helmet ratings.

I recently purchased the Giro Eclipse Spherical MIPS helmet to replace a Kask helmet. Though my Kask fit well, this helmet is much more confortable from both a fit perspective and airflow. I use it for both long road rides and commuting. This helmet is incredibly comfortable and lightweight. Initial adjustment was very easy and getting it dialed in was great. It is definitely the most comfortable helmet I have worn. I highly recommend this helmet!

I bought it because of looks, light weight, and very well received by reviewers.
It is amazingly comfortable that doesn't even feel a helmet is on, so well vented, very effective in trapping sweat, overall a very satisfying purchase.
Initially back adjustment dial and the plastic frame was scratching the neck, which was disappointing. But the issue got resolved after adjusting the plastic frame to match the shape of my head and loosening up the dial a little.

Purchased this helmet as an alternative to the POCs I've been wearing the last few years. The looks are great, it is light, and the venting is wonderful. But in my opinion there is a serious flaw that you all need to be aware of if you're, um, a bit larger.
The MIPS straps in the back hang very low compared to other helmets and the plastic is very thin with rough edges. If you just try on the helmet you don't notice this. But if you, like me, are a bit thicker but still ride with a fairly aggressive position, those thin straps will dig into your neck right below the base of your skull even when the helmet isn't strapped in with any pressure. You turn your head and these things become little plastic knives. In my case, after my first ride, it was simply hot spots and what felt like a scrape. Yesterday, after trying to stretch these and sand them (they are so thin you really can't do the latter) a 90 minute ride with climbing, where my head position was really stretched to look up the hill, it was so bad that I ended up with scabs on the back on my neck from these things. Talking to Giro didn't help and they had no adjustment suggestions. So into the trash this goes. If you are a bit in the larger side where you might have a bit more skin back there, avoid this helmet. Which sucks to say because it is otherwise super comfortable just trying it on and looks great.

Helmet bought to replace a Giro Aether MIPS that has seen lots of service. Fit is consistent with previous Giro MIPS/Spherical helmets, size small for 5'1" female.
Helmet is very light and well-ventilated. Very comfortable on all length rides; don't even notice it is there. Have already had some days in the low 80s in Eastern NC with high humidity, and airflow has been excellent.
Also purchased the RocLoc 5 LED light. Light installs easily and is surprisingly quite visible from the rear and sides when standing. Have long hair which fits well through the back of the helmet, and when on the bike and stretched out even a small bit, the hair all but covers up the light. Have tried securing the ponytail more tightly, but it still largely obstructs the light. The concept is great and probably works well for riders who are more upright and/or with shorter hair, but may not be effectively visible otherwise.

Rated tops in protection by an independent testing agency. BTD come through again with superior customer service when a larger size was required (parents always said I had a big head!). Comfortable fit with excellent coverage.

I am very happy with my purchase. I've owned many different Giro helmets and this one stands out and looks great! Feels like a few free watts for sure! True to size and great air flow. I will use mainly for road and occasional mtb.

I got this helmet because a I needed a new one and looking at the recent safety rating it ranked at the top. After a recent crash my helmet looked fine but then later I saw the foam was cracked inside!
The MIPS system conforms nicely to your head and it quite comfortable - more so than my old conventional Rudy. I still blunder around trying to get the buckle engaged but hopefully that will be sorted with practice. It doe looks quite bulbous on the head. For looks the Kask Aero would be my choice but "safety first"!
