Upgraded from a Bell Furio to the Giro Atmos. The Atmos is significantly cooler on warm days. The helmet is very comfortable and sufficiently light that it is barely noticeable. Fit is easily dialed-in. I particularly like the padding as it does not catch the sweat like the Furio leading to a build-up that all of a sudden will overflow down my glasses. Very happy with this purchase to date.

I would not usually buy a helmet on line, but already have a Giro Atmos which I love. The new helmet fits fine, love the bright yellow, got a great price with BikeTiresDirect, but the adjustment mechanism isn't as easy to use and the straps are really flimsy. Will be interesting to see if they hold up, but I would prefer the old, heavier straps. I have a big ol' head and Giro seems to fit better than others I have tried.

this is a nice looking and lightweight helmet providing excellent ventilation - recommended

The Giro Atmos is the only helmet that I will use while I'm riding my Double Centuries as it is so light that I can't even notice that I'm wearing it and air passes through it so well that sweat can't stay on my head at all. I'm just cool and crisp all the time while riding with my Atmos on my head. The newly revised adjustment for your head size is fantastic and now I'm addicted to it.

I have had many helmets over the years and this is by far my most favorite. I've even crashed with it once and damaged it slightly but I love it so much that I can't stop wearing it. On hot days I can't even tell that it's still on my head the venting is so good!

a great helmet. light, comfortable. once on, you forget you have it on......

Used it for road training and racing. I like the RocLoc system, but the helmet straps are awkward and uncomfortable especially when tightened as instructed (Ie, they don't lay flat but twist against my earlobes and cheeks).

Use for recreational cycling. Like the light weight and good air flow. Especially like the helmet adjustment - easy to adjust for various amounts of head-wear as we head into colder temperatures.

This purchase was for a replacement of the identical helmet worn during a road bike crash. I was wearing an Atmos when I went over the bars at about 25 mph. I was laid out prone, with the helmet having the first contact with pavement. A precautionary MRI was negative, for any related injuries.
It's been said before Check out the prices on neurosurgery, then decide how much you want to spend on a helmet.

This helmet is light, and very well vented. It fits closely and looks good and feels light on your head. The forehead pads are on the thin side, though, and the shape of the helmet is fairly round. If you have a narrower head it might be uncomfortable there. Fit seems similar to other Giro helmets overall. Overall, very happy.

Rdie 4-5 times weekly. Solo or group. 18-20 MPH. 3000 milesyear. Have been using Giro Pneumo, need a new helmet. Like the light weight, very easy to adjust the fit. Plenty of vents to try and stay cool.

This was my first real cycling helment. I have become a pretty avid rider, and I got this helmet to replace my sporting goods store helmet. The fit and profile is very nice on this helment. I wanted good coverage without looking like a bucket head.
The only critical comments I have are the challenge of fitting the straps properly. The straps are hard to position around my ears. I had to play with them alot to get the right positioning. The instructions are not very helpful.

This is my second Giro Atmos helmet. The first one developed a crack after 6 years of constant use.
Great fit and features.

The season is just starting in the northeast, and I've only been out a couple of times. Thankfully haven't crashed. I will say the helmet is comfortable, light and cool, and I hope I never have to find out how strong it is. The most comfortable helmet I've ever owned.

Five years ago I upgraded from a Pneumo to an Atmos and never looked back. I'm on my 3rd one and about to buy number 4. More comfy and secure than a Prolight, lighter than an Ionos, better looking than an Aeon. Yay. If you've got a Bell head (conical), you may want to get a Bell, but I have a Giro head (spherical), and this helmet suits me just fine.

This helmet looks and feels great. I hardly know it's on. If you like to wear your glasses outside of the straps (put your helmet on first and then your glasses), my comments below will not be relevent to you. If you like to wear your glasses under the straps, please read on. I have straight temples on my glasses and they interfere with the adjustable head strap in the back if worn under the straps.

I like this helmet so much, I bought a second one. It's very lightweight, which helps a lot for the long distance riding I do; I think the lightness of this helmet has helped minimize my neck and shoulder soreness.
It has the same one-handed adjuster dial in the back that the other models do and it's very useful, especially if you change from riding with or without hats.
Tons of vents makes it comfy in the summer, but, strangely, it doesn't feel too cold in the winter (I wear a Giro merino cap under).

Great helmet. Very light, after 15-20 minutes into your ride you don't even feel it on your head. Riding in Miami,FL heat and humidity are two elements we face when riding and this helmet keeps my head cool at all time. The side straps could be better in comparison to other helmets in the price range, but that's my only complain. Overall 5 stars, a great first buy for anyone looking into that mid $100 value helmet.
