I bought this to replace my HRM pro. I was expecting it to perform at least as well as my less expensive older Garmin strap. Currently the HRM 600 does not support power calculations for nordic skiing. This was the number one reason I bought this strap over a cheaper one. Hopefully Garmin will fix this problem with a firmware update.

It works
The main thing you want from a heart rate monitor is for it work. It works well. In the cold, indoors, in the pool. It works
