I use this product to record my rides. The unit is dependable and has good battery life. It seems overly-complicated (I prefer Lezyne's fewer buttons) and things like backlight and switching screens can be cumbersome. The screens are customizable, but depending on how many fields you're displaying re-sizing a particular field or fields may not be available. Other than that, the unit works well.

I've been using a Garmin 820 for years, and learned to accept the glitchy touch screen sensitivity, display limitations and cluttered look of many of the pages. The 830 represents a vast improvement on all counts - it is simply a joy to use. Even the charging port cover is more robust!

Simply Awesome performance and data compilation

This is one of the most affordable, feature-packed ride computers on the market. Proven technology, rugged construction, reliable performance. I use this computer on a regular basis for ride of 20 to 60 miles. I can't think of anything I don't like about it, because it is perfect for me.

I am replacing my Edge 1000 with the Edge 830 MTB. I was concerned about the screen size and the lack of some 'soft keys,' particularly compared with the new 1030. The screen is beautiful and much clearer than the old 1000. The added mountain bike specific features (like jumping, etc) are a great bonus. Oh, and the overall NAV is much improved.

Excelent tool for riding do not ride with out it

This has some nice updates, but I miss the specific bike profiles of the 510. The only way for it to read a different bike is if you have a different ANTBluetooth sensor on that bike.

Replacing a 13 y.o. Unit. Now that I'm older, don't need so many bells and whistles but still not lacking in features! Bought 2 so we could share stats.

I upgraded my display to allow vaira gps to be on the screen. The software in the 830 atomically installed every extra i was using riding. This impressed me!!

Works fine. A step up from the smaller models.

A little tricky to set up at first, but very comfortable later on.

Love all the features on this Garmin!! I use it on all three of my bikes Road Gravel and Mountain bikes. Bought it on deal of the day saved 25 percent.

Easy to setup with the fields you want to use. Navigation is intuitive. Unit is just a little larger than the 500.

Easy to read, great battery life, precise GPS navigation and smooth integration into the iPhone... couldn ask for any more.

i love using the new Garmin 520, it has everything the 520 has Plus the slightly toned down maps of the 820. overall i like the new maps it comes with. wish the screen was slightly bigger but it fine overall. Also has a slightly updated data fields which look great.

I don't know what I did without it. That said, the buttons feel strange and are sometimes hard to feel or press, and the menus can be a pain to get through.

Decent value as you get what you pay for. Navigating menus with the side buttons is a little clunky but it works.

Big upgrade from my worn out Edge 520. Better display. Usable maps. Much better battery life.

I hate to say that I have not had time to learn all it can do! But as a bike computer, it is awesome. Easy to read and customize. Can't wait to start using the navigation components!
