In the past 2 weeks I've had the pleasure to and opportunity to compare the xlr to zipp 404s. I've put over 100 miles on both of these wheels. I love zipps and thought I would definitely buy them but after this side by side test there is only one clear choice. I feel the zipps are sluggish on hills yet the fulcrums allow me to climb like a champ, however both wheels roll very nicely on flat surfaces. You won't be disappointed with the zipps unless you do the same comparison, they are still an amazing wheel. One thing to note is that I'm comparing tubular fulcrums to clincher zipps which may not be a fair comparison. Cosmetically, The zipps feel and look huge and bulky compared to the fulcrums.
