Going on a casual European vacation ride, so needed shorts to wear in a cathedral with pockets and then hop on the bike for another few hours kind of thing.
The line buttons in to the shorts and these buttons can dig in a bit if your belt is too tight. Of course, if your belt isn't tight enough, you get plumber crack visuals for the people behind you.
Newer chamois that hangs down the inner thigh. Some people may like it, but I'm not a fan.
Zippered shorts pockets are handy for keeping your stuff with you if you're prone to handstands in the forest.
Overall length is just above me knee which is the only short I've ever worn like this.

One of my favorite mountain bike shorts, hot summer days or out ripping in the mud. You'll wear out the liners before you wear out the shorts.
