Trinotal Trail Grip up front and Dubnital Trail Rapid in the rear and this combo seriously rocks. I'm only three rides in so I'd say this is a first impression review, but it is making me itch to get back out there and ride some more. Now that I have the pressure dialed I feel just about as confident as I was on my old more gravity focused tires on the techy descents, but way, way faster on everything else. My fears about being a heavier rider (>200lbs) on these haven't amounted to much at all. The other comments about width running a bit small are accurate, but it hasn't had an impact on my riding so far.

I bought the 29x2.4 in trail grip. When initially mounted they measured 2.25". After having them mounted at pressure for over a week, and then doing 50 miles on them, they are barely bigger. The front tire is measuring 2.28 and the rear 2.32. I consider this to be false advertising. Every other "2.4" tire I've mounted on these wheels (Reserve 30SL) has measured at minimum 2.37 (and up to 2.42). Thus, I consider these NOT to be a 2.4, and thus their weight is deceptively low as well (they did weigh in correctly, in fact, a few grams lighter than the stated 740 (I got an average of 733), but if these were a true 2.4 they'd of course be heavier than that.

This tire rolls extremely well, feels on par with my Mezcal/Peyote summer combo. Corners and grips well (for an XC tire) in the summer and early fall, but it's been sketchy in wet conditions. The knobs are too shallow to really dig in during turns with any amount of slickness, and I hit the deck twice unexpectedly. Time to change to a more aggro tire for PNW winter conditions. Really nice tire, otherwise, and I'll be happy to throw it back on for XC rides in the summer.
