I have over 14,000 miles on these tires, not the same set of course, but I do get about 4-5K miles out of a set. Strong, grippy (wet and dry), durable.... What else can you ask from a tire? I train with them and also race with them. I also like the high thread count in the casing which makes it a comfortable riding tire. Not as nice as the best sew-ups but for a clincher it's really nice.

These tires are not only fast in terms of rolling resistance, but they're very grippy for cornering. You can feel it and hear it when you're doing a corner right, and it's lots of fun. Great tires, they just feel good.

Great tire. Ive been using Grand Prix 4000 for years. Good feel for a clincher. High list price but discounts can be found. Only concern is the side wall. Most tired I replace are due to sidewall cuts.

The Continental GP4000s delivers, it can be more expensive than other tires but you get what you pay for.
I highly recommend it and Bikestiresdirect has the best prices and service.

These tires are so puncture proof ! I absolutely love them. I rode 5,000 miles last year without a flat! I ride with other people and they are always getting a flat and I have turned them all onto these tires now!! I buy a few extra whenever BikeTIresDirect has a sale so I always have a spare.

I do alot of riding at night and these tires are perfect for us. They reflect really well and are nice and sturdy.

Conti GP4000s are known for their low rolling resistance, and my own personal spin-down tests on my training rollers confirm this. The supple sidewalls come with a price, however-they are a little more prone to punctures if you accidentally drop your bike into a pavement crack and snag the sidewall. Easy to do in bad lighting conditions. That's where the reflective version comes in. The reflective strip provides a little more sidewall protection and helps cars see you in the dark. They are very handy on bike tours when you have to negotiate your way back to your tent at night using a headlamp-you just have to look for those big bright double circles.

Tires performed well

The new 2017 GP4000 S II 25mm clinchers roll fast and comfortable (under 90PSI) on the poorly maintained roads of the Midsouth. They provide great grip and great mileage. I often change rear tire every 3k miles (6 moths) with no punctures. I stock them regularly when on sale at BTD. Don't waste your time and energy in buying from anywhere else.

My favorite tire. Good mix of road feel, rolling resistance and puncture protection.

Good rolling resistance and traction plus a fast tire. My only issues is are the sidewalls get easily damaged and the tires is hard to install on aluminum rims.

I commute at night on my S-Works Tarmac and an thrilled to have tires I can do Masters races on each weekend, yet be highly visible on my night commutes! Great job Continental mixing a performance tire with a highly visible reflective sidewall!

I was a tried-and-true Grand Prix 4 seasons Tire user for over 10 years. But this summer I decided to put some 25 mm 4000s's on my zip 303 s for a summer trip up to Breckenridge Colorado. I was afraid I would experience more Flats. But I knew going from 23mm to 25mm width, Plus lighter weight, less tread, and using 10lbs. less tire pressure, would add up to less rolling resistance. Which would make my climbing over all the major passes much more enjoyable. And guess what,, it DID!
Even back here in Tucson on some of the chewed up, debris ridden roads, I don't think I've yet to change a flat on a ride.
Until proven otherwise, I'm totally sold on the 4000s. Especially when used on the 25mm width newer carbon fiber wider rims (Zipp,Enve). The ride feels extremely comfortable. Definitely worth trying.

What can you say, this tire continues to perform. I've been running these for about 4 years and they always hold up. They install super easy and offer amazing puncture resistance. Combined with the low rolling resistance, they make for a really great race tire and training tire. I even have one on the indoor trainer that has gone over 3000 miles with almost no wear, a little hardened though. Still, this tire was an outdoor tire first and then was put on the trainer is still going strong after at least a year of abuse. Bike Tires Direct always has the best price and that combined with their awesome service, you can't go wrong! Buy these tires!

The Continental Grand Prix 4000 S II 700c Road Tire is the longest lasting road tire with the best puncture protection I have used. I have been using these tires for the last 6 years and I usually get 4 to 5 thousand miles on a set with rotating them every 1000 miles. I get the least amount of cuts then any other tire I have used in these tires.

Ridden this tire from April till October over 1000 miles. 220 lbs rider averaging 16 mph in hilly riding. Will switch frt to rear and add tire sealant to get another 500-1000 miles on the old ones. Then mounting the the ones I just bought for another 2000. Found running 100 lbs frt and rear for my climbing days and 85 frt90 rear for long days.

The GP4000 is my go-to road bike tire. Rolls well and is pretty durable (I generally get 3,000 miles out of each tire, rotating them from front to back and then finished. The tire does suffer cuts on occasion, but then again, what tire doesn't? I've tried some other tires. I always end up coming back to the GP4000, but I wait for it to go on sale at BTD because at list price, or near the list price, it is too pricey!
