I put one of these on my front wheel for racing in CA to help swallow broken bits of our roads. They worked great. Of course you need to know the clearance of your bike. On my Reynolds rims these balloon to 29.2. Enjoy.

Very difficult to mount especially in cold weather. Tire developed a hop in it after only 800 miles of riding. Avoid Continental tires.

I find these tires to be very comfortable. Of course, that may be because I went from 25s to 28s. They seem to have great road traction also.

If you're looking for a lightweight grippy tire Conti 4000II s fits the bill. If you want a tire that can hold up to the road debris we all encounter not so much. Deep gauges from blue stone, sea shells (common in the asphalt of FLA), & other small sharp objects have rendered 2 tires useless in well under 1K miles.

The 700x25s are my go-to tire these days, especially with the great prices you can get now. Don't overlook the reflective version. I use them on my touring bike. At night with a headlamp on, they are incredibly bright. Helps me find my tent in the dark.

I really wanted to see if these tires were much better than gator skins or ultra sports or thickslicks. At the price point it finally became worth it to check it out. They are definitely a superior option to all above mentioned. They have enough puncture to have survived my neighborhood for the last month and that is a strong endorsment. Very much worth buying at the current price.

2000 miles plus Work well for me

This is a great tire for all around riding I also use gatorskins in the winter so when I put these on it makes the bike feel more lively. Funny thing is I dont seen to be able to notice a difference in punctures between these and the heavier continental model.

The rubber compound is so sticky the tires pick up small rocks, which you have to listen to as you ride along. With latex tubes, I never experienced a slow flat with these tires, only blow outs that required patching the tire in order to keep using. Riding 150 miles a week, four tires lasted an average of five weeks each, when I gave up and changed to a different tire. The 4000 is annoying, unreliable and time-consuming to keep rolling.

Love these tires. Very grippy and I get an excellent role. Seems to be faster than my Gator hardshell tires that I had previously.

Ivy been using these tires for several years now and I can honestly say Ive never had a flat due to a puncture. They have exceptional grip and wear like iron.

I have been riding for over 40 years and tried many different tires. The Continental Grand Prix 4000 S II 700c Road Tire is one of the best for wear, flat protection and cut protection. I usually get 4000 miles out of The Continental Grand Prix 4000 S II 700c Road Tires.

the continental gp 4000 sII road tire is a very good tire - perfect for the winter in the PNW where the roads are wet, and the shoulders littered with debris. These tires feel great, and are durable enough that I'm not worried about flats yet. So far, about 500 miles on them and i am very happy. And bonus!, the 28mm tires are actually 29mm when installed on Mavic Open Pro rims.

Switched to Continental GP 4000 after years of using Michelin Pros. Liked Michelin Pros because of their grip, giving confidence on speedy turns, but prone to flats & quick wear. Rarely got more than 2,200 miles on a pair. In 16 months on Continentals, only one flat, & got 4,800 miles on first pair, making price premium over Michelin's well worth it.

Have not used yet but have been good tire in the past.

Ride about 120 miles a week on 3 rides. Dont like changing tubes on the road. These tires when fairly new offer excellent flat protection along with a great ride. Swap them out before the wear dimples disappear.
Had to replace an almost new front tire at home due to sidewall damage. A gator skin might have been less vulnerable to this unseen road hazard.
That said will stick with this model. Buy them in pairs when on sale.

Wait until BTD puts these on sale (which is often). The regular price is ludicrous. My car tires don't cost that much. That being said, I've been riding these tires for a very long time. They do not have the puncture or flat resistance of Gatorskins, but they roll much better and corner much better.
I am not small (6'5 and 215lbs) and these tires stand up to me and 110 psi. I get thousands of miles out of them (even the rear, of course many more on the front) on all kinds of tarmac (new asphalt to older, rutted and pitted roads).

I am extremely pleased to report that after four years and over 30,000 miles of using this tire in country and urban road conditions my records reveal that 60% of the total number of tires I have ridden until quite worn out were retired without a single flat. !!!

I love these tires, they lastwear very well then any other tire I have used. The customer service is the best, I mistakenly got the wrong size and they shipped out the correct size immediately without having me to pay again plus sent me a shipping label. Thank you so much!
