Been riding Conti GP4000's for over 10 years without issue. Just put a new one on in June and had about 34 of sidewall separate from the bead after 400 miles. Riding on a paved trail, no debris hits, no warning...just went bad.

Went from 32mm to these 28s. Noticed increase acceleration immediately

I've been riding on the same set of these tires for two seasons and they're still in good shape. They're light and have less rolling resistance than my previous tires. That means I can go faster downhills as well as climb better than before. However, you initially have to give up a bit of comfort until you get used to them. And I haven't had any flats with them so far. But that's probably more luck than anything else.

I use this on my commute in mostly dry and warm conditions. About 14 miles a day and no flats so far after about 150 miles. So far so good! )

This is my 4th set of GP4000s, and Ive only replaced previous sets due to mileage - typically 2.5-3k. BikeTiresDirect is awesome, and I have always appreciated their loyalty program. Thanks.

Ive gone through 2 tires, front and back do to small cuts that exposed the tube within the last month and a half. Had my share of flats as well. Too many to count. They just dont work for me. They roll great and are comfortable but just arent strong against flats and cuts.

My favorite tire for many years. Only knock is the easily cut side wall. Dont know how long they will be available now that the 5000 is out but I will continue to use them as long as I can buy them

I ride 100 miles a week on 3 different bikes and all 6 rims have the Conti 4000.

Totally disappointed.
holes in both front and back tire.
multiple flats. Riding on roads, highway, chip seal, etc.
I'm done with these after less than 100 miles.
Going back to Schawlbe Tires

A good tire for overall riding. Despite running a 28mm tire on a wide rim Roval 38, i need to run high pressure, the same as a 25mm conti of about 90PSI for me to get a good road feel without bouncing. A surprise for sure. The fault is it is not as round as i would like. I checked the beat seating and still it is a few millimeters out of round.
The reflective side wall on the 28mm width is very effective.

I had the same tires previously, liked the tires until sidewall blow out after around 400 miles. I had just come down a mountain pass at high speed and was on a slow section when the sidewall blew. Thought it was just an anomaly. Bought a new set. Started an easy ride on smooth roads, made about 4 miles before this one blew. Sidewall split the same as previous tire. These tires are dangerous. Will not trust these again.

I truly think these tires are worth the deal I received. Great price and a great product. Less punctures much greater traction and I love the reflective strips. I ride mostly at night, 10 miles to work and I like the durabilty. Thanks

I use the tire on a Trek One Series 1.5 bike. This is my daily training bike and I average 125 miles per week. GP 4000 S II tires really perform and wear well. I have use them ever since I place the first set on them. Excellent and responsive tires.

I've been riding Continental Grand Prix 4000s for years.
As a rear tire they typically last about 2000 miles (with a 200 lb. rider) and on the front, they last significantly longer.
I purchase them about once a year from BikeTiresDirect, because their price is hard to beat.

Ive used this tire before. It is durable. not prone to flats

I have been using these tires now for about 3 years and they are by far the most puncture proof tire out there! In 3 years I have only gotten 2 flats and that is only because I road over a bunch of glass (unavoidable unfortunately). I will continue to buy these tires indefinitely and am excited to try out the new 5000 series.

I use these for noncompetitive, long road rides. There's a reason they're so popular, they're great all around tires. They're grippy, comfortable, and puncture resistant. I've got about 2000 miles on my latest set, and they look like they'll go 2000 more. They're a steal when you get them on sale, which, thankfully, BTD offers frequently.

Ive been riding some balding but not quitting 33mm Jack Brown Green tires for past several years wondering what a good handmade, $70 each, set of tires would be like. I tried these as an inexpensive interim and will go no further. They ride like Ive never experienced in my old 23mm Conti GP days theyre supple, fast (sure, anythings faster than Jack Browns) and astoundingly grippy. BTD makes them so freaking affordable, you have nothing to lose in the 28mm size, I say.

Responsive and durable tires are Continental, like everything and wouldn't buy other tires except Schwabel.
