I purchased these Continentals for a 24 hour road race and they performed flawlessly.
Even after my race they are holding up to all the scattered debris I roll over on the highways that I travel!
Before I take off for a ride I check my tires for any area that might have glass or metal debris stuck in them.
I found two areas on my rear tire that had small pieces of metal stuck in them, but didn't penetrate the tube.
I picked out the metal from my Continental tire and didn't encounter loss of air.
I definitely recommend these Continentals to anyone looking for a reliable, durable road tire!

I got a rear flat in my Continental after cycling 662 miles! Is this a good thing or not? Would I have gotten a flat sooner if my road bike was wearing a normal race tire? I'm gonna say, yes!
275 of those miles that I cycled across were Highways, littered with debris. A lot of that debris was pieces of tire belt from blown out vehicle tires.
So I can say that my Continental 4000 did their job!
I was able to make it home on the latest trip. I cycled 68 miles of highway and that is where I picked up metal schrapnel.
Thank God for my Continentals. I definitely recommend these tires, indeed

I purchased two tires. I ride highways most all the time. Sometimes there is gravel on the edges of roads.
In 5 rides I had had 3 flats. One was a small rock working its way through. The 3rd was a blow out and a hole in the bottom toward the side. Both tires have holes. I dont know if Bike. Tires Direct is buying seconds or if I got a bad lot. Waste of money and I am going back to Schwalbe brand. I wish there was a warranty on these tires.

I have been riding these tires for over 10 years, let me say the grip is second to none, the wear (life of the tire) is second to none and my puncture rate has dropped to almost zero from one every 2 weeks or so. These do everything from Pro Tour race level tire too long distance, long life commuted duty. I have yet to try the next version the GP5000 but at this price point, I run them on all 5 of my bikes.
The comfort is great, and with the newer 25 mm and 28 you can now run lower pressure. Caution on the 28's as they don't fit a lot of frames.

Great for races, climbing, and descending. Probably a little soft for commuting.

I have been using Michelin Pro race 3, 4 services course tires for quite a while. I was riding on Conti's before and they were just too damn hard to get on the Mavic wheels. Anyway, I recently switched Continental Grand Prix 4000 S II 700c Road Tirebecause the roads I am riding on now are not really smooth at all. They are very rough and the Michelins were wearing out very fast. I Have put about 1000 miles on these guys and I am sold! They show barely any wear and the ride is smoother than the Michelins. I suggest that you invest a couple of bucks and buy the Continental Grand Prix 4000 S II 700c Road Tires you will be satisfied for many miles. Happy cycling

I have used these tires for both recreational riding, racing and race training. They have been good performers with reasonable wear and are solid in the corners for both criteriums and high speed descents.

I purchased a used rode bike with Continental Grand Prix 4000 S Tires. I like them so much I put them on my commuting bike. They give me good traction, wear resistance and a comfortable ride. In addition to standing up to the dirty streets of Denver during my daily commute they have been to the top of Mount Evans at over 14,000 feet multiple times. The ride down from Mount Evans is a punishing test on tires, bikes and rider due to the rough pavement. I did have one small side wall cut that allowed the tube to fail. I hope to get the side wall patched. Due to performance of this tire I have stocked enough of them to last me for a couple of years.

These a long lasting, durable road tires that perform great and live up to the hype. The longevity of these tires also make them a great value. I use them on a daily basis for training rides in all conditions. Because of geographic considerations where I ride and live, I typically climb 3000 ft. on any given ride. These tires provide light weight for climbing and great stability when descending Highly recommended.

I ride a Trek Emonda with Zipp 202s. Ive been running the 25s for 2 years and have covered close to 10k miles on them . While the tire is susceptible to goathead stickers, more than say a Gatorskin they are faster and smoother, with better grip . I find them a great match for my Zipp 202s. Im 225 lbs and not particularly fast uphill . But coming out of the mountains where I ride , Im going straight at 50 mph and cornering in the high 30s . I counter stear and brake hard , And I find these tires predicable and consistent . I never patch tubes, just replace using Bontrager tubes . A pair of Zipp brake pads lasts me about 4K miles and I run ceramic bearings . I run 20-24 on flat road and they are smooth as glass . My only complaint is they shed threads that migrate to my hubs and crank , necessitating regular inspection . At Bike Direct prices , I feel they offer great value . Happy Riding .

Running 28s on a Specialized Roubaix (2014 carbon frame) they rubbed. When calipered at 100psi they read 32mm. Changed to the 25s and had perfect clearance. The 25s measured 27mm at 100psi.
1400 miles in 6 months (40-100 F) on smooth to chipped surfaces with occasional pot holes
No issues and minimal visual wear

This is very predictable tire. I performs great on the dry and on the wet.
I really value the wear like predictability. I typically get about 1500 miles from
a pair of these tires. I weight about 175lbs and I i climb about 100K ft a year.
After abandoning other brands since they were very unpredictable as to there
wear out cycle, these are the only tires I will run. I ride about 1500 miles a year.

Road riding 4-6K year x 16 years...this is my favorite tire for all around performance. Good handling, long wearing, puncture resistant. Almost a race tire but lasts longer. I always come back to these tires.

Continental is still the gold standard in cycling tires. I use them on all 4 of my bikes. Gatorskins on my commuter bike, 4 Seasons on my winter road bike and these on my race bikes. The ride quality is superb. The handling is excellent. These won't last as long as the Gatorskins or 4 Seasons but that would be true of any premium tire. Get them on sale and they become a good value.

These really are great tires, I now use these with latex tubes and my average speed has definitely increased - I'm still slow of course but I'll take any improvement I can get. The reflective strip is a nice touch too, now cars can undoubtedly see me from any angle. I have at least a few hundred miles on them and no flats even after accidentally riding through broken glass, there are small cuts on the tread but no flats so the puncture protection is good as well.

I researched tires before I bought these and they were the highest rated. They did not disappoint. Roll smooth and quick and are surprisingly durable.

This tire has become the go-to tire of all my cycling friends. It is fast and comfortable, lasts longer than most performance tires, and is relatively flat-resistant. Of course, this is a race tire, so it's not going to be as bullet proof as a beefy commuter tire. But as an all-around performer, it's hard to beat.

This is the third or fourth season using GP4000 versions of clinchers . They give a smooth roll, hold up to all road conditions, tread is durable. I have them on two different wheel sets. One for training on my tri bike and another climbing wheel set for hilly rides on my road bike.
