Great tires and long-lasting but a bit pricy

I have used these for some years. I'm no lightweight (200 lbs.), so flats are an issue for me. I have had uniformly good luck with Grand Prix 5000's - particularly when they are new. They ride and corner well. I replace them about every 2500 miles - I notice that at that wear level I start getting flats.

Very smooth and fast tires. Confidence inspiring .

Because of the weather conditions in my area I haven't had a chance to ride but my experience with the tires so far are great. They were easy to install them and I am looking forward to get on the trails in spring and try them.

It took six months to receive the new tires with >20 shipping updates with new dates. The price of the tires on this site was slightly lower when the tires actually did ship compared to when I placed the order, but I still got charged the original price.

Been using Continental 4000 and now 5000's for several years and I don't think they can be beat for overall performance, durability and flat resistance. I believe I will be staying with these tires for the foreseeable future.

In the last couple of years, I changed up from GP 4000 Contis to these 5000s and they are a subtle improvement with better sidewall resistance to flats. During my career I have ridden everything from $10 east European tubulars to Vittorias and Michelins. These Contis work well in the wet as well as the dry - and for winter I put on the 4-Season Contis in a wider fit.

These tires ride very smoothly and with excellent grip. Also very durable...have not punctured even riding on winter roads with tons of debris. Why can't the street sweeper sweep the bike lanes? I got a great sale price on them and bought a set of 25 and 28 mm and one set of tubeless. They are currently the workhorse tires for me and the 25s are light enough to race too.

Low rolling resistance, light and tough. Just a great tire for everyday use and training. One down side is they are very, very tight to get on and off, at least on my wheels.

As a long term user of the Grand Prix 4000, the 5000 seem to be a slight upgrade. The tire handles and performs well. The 5000 series tire definitely wears much faster than the older 4000. The maximum mileage is in the 3000 mile range.

These feel very smooth and fast, and mounted without drama. I use them on a Trek Emonda that I reserve for long rides or intense workouts, not daily commuting. They feel better than the OEM Bontragers that were on the bike, which I replaced because I could feel and see were already losing their shape after only 3,000 miles.

As always a great tire, grippy and fast with decent puncture protection. 1500 miles in and no issues.

My go to tire for low rolling resistance, great performance and standing up to the miles'

I run clinchers. What else is there to say about the Conti 5000's? Excellent rolling resistance is the best feature imo. As for punctures, etc I have experienced some, but they were from obvious incidents such as hard hits through holes or thorns for example. No random small punctures of any kind.

These are great tires that hold the road really well. Ordered 32mm for my Orbea road bike and they absorb the bumps well. A bit hard to install, but once on the rim they perform well.

I've tried many of the brands and keep coming back to Contis! They are durable: 1) I get the most mileage out of them. 2) Fewest punctures 3) The ride is comfortable. I've got a pair of 28m on backorder - worth the wait!

I loved this tire at first and marveled at its performance. I got about 500 miles out of them before catastrophic failure of the sidewall happened. The center tread held up great and the tire rolled very fast but the sidewall is not durable. Hopefully the new version fixes the sidewall problem. I had great faith in this tire until the sidewall issue. Unfortunately its short lifespan made me seek out other tires to try.

Ran 4000s for years. Was concerned about the 5000s due to slightly thinner sidewalls vs the chip & tar roads we have here in TN. The 5000s have had no problems at all, usually good for 3500 miles+. No blowouts. Good puncture protection.
