Great tire for club rides!

This is a great tire for club rides. Fast rolling and puncture resistant. I get a full season of over 3000 miles (4800km) on a pair of 28 with latex tubes. I had one puncture each of the last 3 seasons.

Thank you for your feedback.

Another awesome tire from Continental!

All my bikes have Continental tires and my new Specialized Allez Sprint Comp is no exception. Ordered these tires in 700x28 to give me a little more width than the factory 700x25 and it was the best thing I could have done. Smooth rolling with no resistance. I don't ride when the roads are wet and I don't think these would excel in wet conditions but they are very grip when it's dry out. The transparent sidewall matches my Oasis color bike. Would order these again in a heartbeat as I loved them more than the grand sport.

Thank you for your feedback.

Great Road tires and very durable

I have always ridden Continental tires over the past 5 years. These are great road tires and are extremely durable. They are a little difficult to get on but since they do not have a bad failure rate I use them religiously.

Thank you for your feedback.

Good Solid Performing Tire

With this tire often being available at a sale price, I buy a few at a time when possible. I've been using the GP 5000 for years and can only remember two punctures. They hold up well to wear and tear and grip the road in corners. I believe their weight also compares well to other, similar models.

Thank you for your feedback.

A great all around tire.

The Continental Grand Prix 5000 is a great all around tire. It offers nice grip on corners, a smooth ride and long mileage. I have ridden on these tires for 5,000 kilometers (~3,000 miles) and they are still rideable. I have ridden them on the road and gravel in Italy, Australia and the United States and have never been disappointed by the way they perform.

Thank you for your feedback.

My current choice of tire for road riding.

I use these tires on my #1 bike. Previously used Grand Prix 4 Seasons.

That's where I learned the Vectran belt worked at preventing flats.

When the Continental Grand Prix 5000 got the Vectran belt I switched to them,

They work well for me.

Thank you for your feedback.

Fair value proposition when on sale

For a road tire the conti 5000 is in the top tier. Low rolling resistance, comfort, durability and puncture resistant. The only drawback is the price. Bottom line: grab them when they're on sale.

Thank you for your feedback.

The only tire I ride

The best tires on the market - especially for the price. I rarely get flats and just migrated up to 28 mm for my road bike. They are very comfortable.

Good grip and excellent for rough roads

I bought these 28mm tires for the rough roads in Marin County, CA. Excellent grip and forgiving over cracks, ruts and potholes, and better than my previous 23 mm Contis for the roads here. Highly recommend.

Thank you for your feedback.

Grippy without feeling sticky. This tire is dependable. Pricing has skyrocketed lately so 5 stars when on sale.

This tire stands up to the rigors of high volume riding.

Tube version GP5000s sizing versus GP4000s

A GP5000s 28mm is a bit smaller in height and width than a 25mm GP4000s, as measured installed on a Shimano RS500 alloy wheelset. I assume the 28mm would measure wider, on a wider rim. Old 25mm GP4000s tires just barely cleared my brake bridge, but the new 28mm tires have about 2 more mm of vertical clearance.

New tires get a bit larger after a few days of being installed and under pressure. The GP5000s 25mm tires are even smaller still yet. I use 95 psi in the 25mm GP4000s and 95 psi in the 28mm GP5000s tires, both ride the same near as I can tell.

Thank you for your feedback.
