For day trips on paved and gravel trials this bag works great. Since it does not have internal stiffeners a front rack could provide additional stabilization if you are packing for a couple of people or will be riding on more demanding terrain. This is a big bag and will hold, a rain jacket, energy bars, tools, tubes, first aid kit, wash cloth, towel, a cook kit etc. It has external and internal pockets and is lined which makes it easier to pack and clean. I have not used it for commuting or trips for groceries so cannot attest to the capability of the Velcro straps under those conditions. Weather resistance will be tested soon enough with the onset of winter. Would not recommend for the speed oriented or the racer unless you measure the distance from the top of you bars to the tire to makes sure there is enough clearance. The carrying strap is a plus but removing the bag from the bike takes a little time. If you leave it on the bike, store your bike in a secure area, or don't remove it often this a well made bag for the price. Axiom does however make a quick - clip bag for those who would like that feature.

I use this on my trike for an every day small saddle bag to hold tubes and other gear. It's just the right size. I'll be buying another one this fall for the other side.
