I didn't find these shorts to be any improvment over the previous version. The fabric is lighter and the way they fit was different. They fit fine when standing but actually constricted slightly around the upper leg when seated on a bike. Didn't really notice any difference other than the color in the Pad. I own three pairs of the previous version and really liked them. I will probably not be purchasing any additional pairs because of the change in the fabric and fit.

The new chamois (black) seems more robust than the previous one (blue) and is more comfortable for me on long rides (70-100 miles). It took a couple of rides to appreciate that. Initially, it seemed to retain more water than the other did after washing, so took longer to dry, but I increased the spin on the wash cycle from medium (for delicates) to med-high which helped a lot. The construction is, of course, top notch, and the fit is good. I would buy again without a doubt.
