Vredestein's Flagship Gravel Tire
Vredestein has jumped in on the gravel tire craze with the introduction of the Aventura — an attractive-looking, fast-rolling 700c tire for less technical terrain.
The Dutch tire giant engineered the tubeless-ready Aventura with a supple 120TPI construction and their top-spec SuperLite casing (which is common among their cross-country MTB tires). The tread pattern on the Aventuras was inspired by their XC-race MTB tires.
The Aventura tread pattern is made of trefoil knobs (triangle shaped) that get taller and more widely spaced as you move out from the center of the tire. This design is intended to provide a good balance of cornering and braking grip along with a smooth transition as you lean into loose-over-hard gravel turns.
Vredestein used a triple compound rubber in making this tire. This allows for softer shoulders on the tread but still a hard and grippy center tread.
A third supportive rubber layer is implemented under the center of the tread that keeps it fast-rolling & puncture-resistant.
