Description

Due to the incredible popularity of the Flexus, Tufo is now offering three new tread patterns with the Primus, Cubus, and Dry Plus. The Flexus Primus is the closest to the original Flexus tread pattern with a greater number of taller knobs. The closer knob spacing equates to fast rolling while there is just enough space to shed mud. Special side knobs provide traction when cornering . Sticky and shock absorbing Silica plus VP Si 363 tread compound. Super supple 210 TPI casing. 700 x 33mm (33-622 ISO). Black with Black sidewalls. 350 grams.

Great all around dry tire

I used this tire in the southern Utah cyclocross series last season and had great results with it.

Fast rolling, grippy knobs, great puncture protection. I ran them with 2 oz if Stan's in each and didn't get a flat all season, even in goat head county.

This tire also works great on my pavement commutes around the city, too. At 30-40psi it is really supple and soaks up all the road bumps.

great tire for all around conditions.

I use the tires on my cx race wheel set up and have been very happy with their performance on training rides and 2 races to date. I have been riding them with 25 to 30 psi with no issues. Great traction in corners and excellent ride compared with clinchers.

One tough tubular

I use these in dry conditions and when the cyclocross corse has hazards (rocks and roots). They offer good grip and rolling resistance and stand up in these conditions well. The tread tends to pack up when there is thicker mud or mud mixed with organic material.

At the sale price, you get a great tire and an unbelievable value. Could be more durable.

I have been using Tufo Flexus Primus Tubular Cx tires for about 4 years. Overall I am very happy with this tire. Almost all my cross racing takes place in Northern California. During the early part of our season we are on dry hard packed surfaces and this tire handles those conditions with no problems. It's fast rolling and and corners pretty well. I have also had good luck running it in wet conditions, but we don't generally see the muddy conditions you would find in the N.W., N.E. or mid west. I run the tire with sealant and haven't had any problems with flats. My only complaint, and the reason I couldn't give this tire 5 stars for value, is that I have twice partially torn a knob off the tire. On one tire sealant was able to fix the problem on another tire the hole was to big for the sealant to be effective which made the tire unusable. I have also seen some smaller tears along the bottom edge of several different knobs, although this did not effect the life span of the tire. I primarily use this tire for racing and can get 2 season out of a tire before turning it into a training tire.

Nice all-conditions tubular.

I have ridden these in cyclocross for years. They are good for varying conditions and can be run at fairly low pressure. Good durability and I like the tubeless design and supple casing.

rolls fast grips well but I cut it and it was very difficult to stop the leak

Mostly training on it. Did one cx race in the 55. I'm used to tubulars with a tube and was surprised to find that the only way to repair it is with sealant. Stan's didn't hold but the Tufo Extreme is holding so far. To be fair, I cut the tire and would not expect it to hold if it was a normal tubular with a tube. A small puncture would probable seal up ok but a cut is another thing.

vastly underrated tire

Tufo's and Clement's made by Tufo are my favorite tubulars for racing. They don't rot away like Dugasts and the stiffer sidewalls let me run lower psi without folding in corners

Great Tire at a Great for a tubular Price

I have ridden this in every condition from ice at CX Nationals in Bend, to the grass of Starcrossed. I am amazed at the versatility of this tire. I am not one who has a quiver of tires. I am darn glad I have this as my choice. I think it is better than the Challenge grifo.

Great tire

Besides being a very nice ride with low and high tire pressure, I really like the tubeless construction. Fixing flats using the Tufo tire sealant or, presumably, Stan's is a breeze.
