Stiff armed.
As the centerpiece of SRAM's Red group, the Red crankset perfectly embodies SRAM's commitment to meeting the needs of serious riders everywhere. While many companies continue to deliver products that require a lot of explanation, SRAM consistently creates the kind of components that tick off every column of even the most unreasonable wish list.
True hollow carbon arms for maximum weight savings? SRAM didn't stop developing the Red arms until they had this while still meeting pro peloton requirements for stiffness and power transfer. With carbon fiber, it's all about the shape of the structure. The wide cross-section of the Exogram arms delivers exceptional stiffness without a gram of unnecessary weight.
The stiffest arms SRAM has ever produced mean surprisingly little if the chainrings aren't up to the task. SRAM engineered X-GlideR11-speed-specific chainrings to be as stiff as possible based on material, shape, and machining process, and then pulled out the old Campagnolo sure bet for increasing stiffness without increasing weight: they eliminated one of the arms of the spider and instead bolted one of the chainring bolts directly into the inside of the crank arm. Count the bolts visible in the Exogram and you'll see only four; the fifth is hiding behind the carbon arm, where it anchors, offering a degree of rigidity not possible with five separate arms. The rings of the Exogram also offer strategic ramps and pick-up pins that synchronize with SRAM's slick Yaw front derailleur to deliver extremely quick shifts, even under climbing stresses.
The Red C2 Crankset is available in various lengths and chain ring configurations. Available in SRAM GXP or BB30 versions. Recommended for use with SRAM Yaw front derailleurs only. The bottom bracket sold separately.
Claimed weight is 609 g (172.5mm, 53/39T).

On eof the best.
Hard to say much about a crank and the great ones are always expensive. Lighter weight then most. Fits the rest of the system. Getting the front derailleur perfectly set up was not easy but that is not necessarily the cranks fault. I'd buy one again if needed. I came from Shimano Dura-ace Di2. I can't say this is a step up or down, but equally as good for sure.
