These tires well surpassed my expectations
I had not owned any Michelin bike tires prior to buying these but I have used Michelin tires on my vehicles and had good experience with them. The vehicle tires do usually run a bit higher than most others in the price range but they are good tires so that's not out of line. When I saw how much less their bike tires are compared to some of the other big names I was a little concerned but I was on a low budget for bike tires and the reviews were mostly positive so I decided to give them a try. I honestly wasn't expecting a whole lot out of them given their super low sale price however upon installing them on 2 of my mountain bikes I was pleasantly surprised. The only things that could possibly be considered in a non positive way would be the rolling resistance and noise/vibration but considering the traction that I have experienced with these tires, it's definitely not something I'm going to complain about but for this review's sake. I understand that most things require some amount of compromise so I take that into consideration when writing reviews. However if you are sensitive to the conditions of semi aggressive tires these ones are up there in that aspect. As I said prior to that though, the traction on these is superb in all conditions that Colorado can throw at you, which is just about everything. I've rode with these tires on 2 different bikes, a hardtail and a full suspension through heavy rain, snow, ice, mud, loose sand, packed dirt, pavement, concrete, wood, polished surfaces, wet dry, etc. and it don't matter what combination of any of them you put these through, they hold on like you're on rails. Traction is good for taking off, stopping, and cornering, even pretty extreme cornering. The only thing they failed on a few times was getting up onto curbs, even small ones at the sidewall, which really isn't something that should be done unless it's an emergency anyway, so I'm not faulting them for it, only mentioning that it's not their strong point. I am absolutely thrilled with the performance of these tires and would still be so if they came with a premium price. I've owned a few sets of Maxxis tires but as long as I can get these, I don't believe I will be spending that much money on my bike tires again. I'm really impressed with how these tires handle the roads, and off road as well.

Great all-around MTB tire
I'm using this tire on dirt/gravel trails with deep mud and large rocks thrown into the mix. Absolutely no problems under any conditions. In deep mud the tire does not clog up at all. Great traction and not bad either on pavement. I highly recommend.

Drop what you're using and give these a try
Here in Michigan I ride a lot of dirt and gravel roads.
My first impression was how much faster and smoother they were on gravel compared to some other budget tires out there.
On pavement it was the same thing, they were sticky as a booger right out of the box, no sheen or waxy surface to wear off.
I ride quite a bit (100 to 150 miles a week) and I can already see that I'll probably go through these a lot faster than the long lived junk I used to ride on, maybe I'll need a third rear tire by October, but they're light weight and performance is so good along with the price, I don't care, I like having good stuff on my bike that makes it handle better.
If you've never used these before, it's hard for me to imagine that you could be disappointed.

These tires are excellent for mixed conditions.
These tires strike a good balance between off-road and on-road performance. Good performance in both soft and hard terrain as long as it's not too muddy. They also roll well on pavement without too much rolling resistance. I've been happy with these tires.

Does pretty well off road
As tires go, I've always had good luck with Michelin (I normally ride Country Rocks on paved roads-6600 miles so far).
Bought these to replace the 10 year old off-road knobbies which were pretty worn down and lacking sufficient bite when off-roading. Choose an 2500 foot descent and overall did pretty well. I took a spill on the way down when I hit an especially nasty switchback full of sand which is why I didn't give a five star. Naturally, after I got to the bottom, I had to ride back up a paved road. Suffice to say, these tires were like riding up a mossy trail-you feel like you're pedaling through mud.
For dry dirt, these tires are fine for the most part, low price, and decent quality.

Great tire for the money
I bought a set of these for my son so he could ride single track with me when he was home from college this summer - he only had slicks on his bike for commuting. They worked great and seem to hold up quite well. I don't think they can be beat for the price.

Great tires.
Replaced front and rear, these are the best tires I have had. I ride dirt single track with a lot of small steep climbs with large sections of rock and roots, these tire seem to take the differnt terrain equally well.
