Weird choices

I like how big they are. They're massive, bigger than they look in the pics, you'll never miss the pedal under any circumstances, so your chances of getting hacked in the shin are low. The bolts mesh well with the tread on my Five-Tens... sort of.

Problems though: minor- nothing reflective. Yeah, I know we're all too cool to be caught dead wearing a helmet or whatever, but it's amazing how little you care about looking cool when you're 15 feet in the air because a car just hit you. Even less once you hit the ground and break several major bones, believe it or not. I'm not expecting a big chunky plastic reflector like on a kids' bike, but there's no reason they couldn't have a little strip of reflective paint on there. This is dumb, but easy enough to deal with. However:

Major- what you don't see in these pictures is that the part of the pedal over the spindle sticks up like 1/4 inch higher than the rest of the pedal. This means that unless you slide your feet so far forward that the spindle is under the arch of your foot, which is uh very incorrect, as your knees will quickly inform you, you're basically standing on two little tiny strips in the middle of the pedal, as if your pedals were just thin bars with no platform around them. It's incredibly uncomfortable AND it means all the nice traction spikes there are useless, because your shoe isn't actually touching them. So weird, why would you design it like this? Didn't anybody ride on these before they went into production?

I don't know if I hate these enough to replace them on the cargo bike I bought them for, but I'm definitely not buying another set for my main ride like I planned.

Strong, holds foot secure

Foot doesn't slip off pedal with pegs holding foot so you don't slip.

Step on vs step in

I had a total knee replacement and my gravel bike shimano xtrs didnt release on that leg so the crank bros flat pedals allowed me to survive a few falls

Great Pedals

Perfect for a first pair of flat pedals. Large enough to use with regular shoes but stiffer soled shoes like FiveTen are even better. The pins are long enough for good grip without shredding skin if they hit your calf.

Grippy, lightweight, solid.

I recently had to convert a racey Frankenstein bike to a more dad-oriented cruiser. After mounting a Thule Ridealong Mini to the stem, the clipless Candy 1 pedals began to feel a little unsafe. The Stamp 1 is grippy enough for me, lightweight, spacious, and much safer with the passenger riding up front. Flat pedals still don't have the same comfort as clipless, if I'm riding solo, but if you gotta ride flats, these are solid and thank goodness affordable.

love these pedals

at first I thought it was idiotic to spend $40 on pedals, but after putting a couple thousand miles on them with my gravel bike I can appreciate the subtle differences that make them worthwhile. I really like how thin they are, the smaller model is perfect for my size 10 shoes and the adjustable grips and wonderful. And these are just the low end of the Crank Brothers lineup.

Great low-cost flat pedal

Crank Brothers really came through with this lower-cost pedal. I got them for my wife to boost her confidence on techy sections (she was on SPDs). The pedals are light and the platform size recos were right on (she got the small). They're paired with 510 freeriders which grab the pins well. Nice pedals at a good price.

Just what i needed.

Sturdy pedal, not the lightest but a great all round pedal. I got the large and it fits perfect.
