I did a lot of homework before I decided to buy this rack. I looked at Thule, Yakima and many others, reading on-line reviews and watching videos of the install process. I even went to a local shop that sells and installs roof racks, trailer-hitch-based racket, etc. I really wanted a roof rack, but I was not willing to spend the $ it would have cost for all of the hardware and the install (holes would have needed to be drilled in the roof of my car). The rack is constructed out of very good materials, holds my bike securely (even on bumpy roads), and is easily removed and re-installed (5 minutes, tops).
This rack is simple to install and use. I have only two very minor complaints. 1) The security cablelocking mechanism is relatively short. I cannot use it unless my bike is on the last (most outboard) of the 3 racks. 2) I lose a fair amount of visibility through the rear windshield. Odds are I could improve that if I changed the angle of the rack a bit.
I also bought the top tube adapter for use with my MTB. It too works as advertised.
One caveat. I have not loaded more than one bike on it. Why? Because my wife and kids don't ride.
