They worked great for me for the first 300 miles two years, then developed dangerous looking cracks on both sides of front and rear tires. They have always been stored indoors - minimal UV exposure, minimal temperature changes, low mileage. Biketiresdirect rep claims this is normal. Time to switch brands.

Reasonable weight. After having a pair of ultralight Continentals fall apart way too soon due to side wall cuts and tread wear, I decided to finally buy beefier tires. My 23c Vittoria Rubinos are noticeably heavier and have greater rolling resistance than my ultra thin 20c Contis. But this is to be expected. I'm completely happy with the Rubinos and I enjoy looking at my bike with cool orange tires. I've only ridden maybe 200 miles on the Rubinos. They seem to be holding up very well. They give a smooth, supple ride. I'm very confident and secure with these tires.

Not one flat yet! &40knock on wood&41Keep tire pressure up to aboput 135F, 140R. Carefully check tire surfaces before each ride. Keep my eyes on the road...never had a flat!

Each set has lasted 3000-4000 with only a couple punctures. Both punctures would have went through almost any tire, so no complaints. I ride in rural areas on less than perfect pavement, and these tires roll fast, smooth and have decent grip, even in the rain. For the price, the rubino can't be beat.

I went with a 25 mm on the front only looking for comfort but did not find it. The tire performs fine and shows little wear after 500 miles. But alas I suspect that my issue is with 60tpi. Switched to a Kevlar bead 127tpi (same as my rear tire) and the ride was very different - as in it felt soft as 105psi, close to the feel of tubular. I am the sort that trades durability for performance.

Review by AnonymousReviewed 4/26/2013by AnonymousCasual CyclistOHGood everyday tireNice looking tire. It was time to replace the stock tires on my road bike. These seemed like a nice balance between puncture resistance and weight. I ride mostly paved bike path and they have been great. About 200 miles so far on them. I have to be the worst at changing bike tirestubes and I got them on with medium effort spread out over a few hours. Anyone competent, they should go on easy.

Review by AndrewReviewed 4/15/2013by AndrewCompetitive RacerPhiladelphiaHell of a training tireThe tires came with my bike. Since then, I have put about 1700 miles on them. There are some cuts and nicks in the middle, but nothing has gone through yet. I have yet to get a flat. I run them at the max 145 PSI and they roll smooth. I have had some problems with wet traction, but generally they grip very confidently. Although they are heavy and hard to mount, they are really the perfect training tire

Good grip and a smooth ride, plus I like the colors. It's done well over the last 250 miles, and I expect it to keep it up.

Review by AnonymousReviewed 10/28/2012by AnonymousCycling EnthusiastSouth FloridaSo far so good.I use my road bike mostly for recreationtouring. I need the excercise and so I need the tires to hold air. So far these tires are performing as advertised and as long as they do I should be happy with them.

Review by BAFReviewed 8/24/2012by BAFCycling EnthusiastVAGood training tire.I have traditionally used Bontrager Hardcases for training, but thought I'd give these a try. I have a few hundred miles on them and so far, so good. For a training tire, impressed with their performance and how well they roll. Got them on sale so was very satisfied with the value.

Review by AnonymousReviewed 8/9/2012by AnonymousCycling EnthusiastMidwest USGood training tiresI switched to these from Conti Gatorskins, which had served me well for 4000 miles and needed to go to the Big Highway in the Sky. The Rubinos are lighter and seem a little faster than the Gatorskins. I only have 200 miles on them thus far, but they seem solidly constructed. Great price from this site for the tires and they arrived on time.

Review by David WagnerReviewed 7/21/2012by David WagnerCycling EnthusiastWhitefish, MtExceptionally priced, fast delivery, easy to mount, durable thus farPurchased a set so I had fresh rubber for a 130 mile benefit ride which they road nicely right out of the box, and have been running them as a daily trainer since. I would be happy to give 5 stars at this point as I am very pleased with the performance but I've only put 400 miles or so on them. Having never run a tire with tread I didn't know what to expect -I've been running Michelin Pro's and like them quite a lot-. They are perhaps not as smooth running as the Pro's but for the price they ride very well and feel durable, tough, ridding not the best pavement daily in north-west Montana. And they are not slowing me down one bit, gaining on my spring training with the Pro's and even shattering a personal best hill climb buy 3 min. Smooth and stable on the down, coasting in the 40's. Very easy to mount, putting on four tires in half the time struggling with 2 Pro's I don't feel nearly as mechanically useless as I used to. Over all exceptionally priced for what I'm getting from them so far, supper fast delivery.

Hi,
Thanks for your review! The lifespan of tires can vary widely depending on conditions—two years is not bad! We always recommend checking your tires before you take your bike out, especially if you haven't ridden for a while. If there's anything else we can do for you, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Thanks, Stacia
