Perfect

Perfectly machined that exactly replaced the cracked seat post on my 15 year old Orbea.

Thank you for your feedback.

Excellent seatpost

I bought this Elite to replace my eight year old Masterpiece seatpost that developed a crack. I knew buying the Masterpiece was a risk being slightly heavy and riding on not the best roads, but it did give me eight years of hard use, and it failed in a very 'controlled' manner compared to a carbon seatpost. I love the two seat rail clamps that are easy to adjust on my SMP saddle. Made in Macon, Georgia too.

Thank you for your feedback.

Very functional

What can one say about a seat post that supports your saddle and is comfortable? There are no moving parts to break, and basically nothing to do with it other than to hold your saddle in place at the correct height. It does that as well as any seat post that I have had on the many bike that I have owned over the years. This one works and I recommend it if you are looking for a good seat post.

Thank you for your feedback.

Loved it - until I broke it

Always thought these were indestructible, turns out not so. Just snapped my 30.9 setback at the seat clamp in mid-ride, thankfully only two miles from the trailhead. Not a Clydesdale, 195 lbs, it was on a full suspension rig with a Selle Flite (titanium rail) saddle, properly tighten.

Ive had several, this is the first that failed me. Havent completely ruled out getting a new Thomson, but its now a question whereas it used to be a no-brainer.

Thank you for your feedback.

worth every dime

built an S&M Covid Cruiser -29er . Got my seat back just a little , and it makes for a way more comfortable ride . I like the construction of the seat post , no weld , super strong . I was hoping they made a 25.4 set back but no luck . great product though .

Thank you for your feedback.

15 years and no issues

Have had one for 15 years. Got the original set back. Upgraded another bike to the masterpiece version.

No issues. No loosening. Just about the most solid part of the whole bike. Per dollar, superb value.

Recommended uberhighly.

Thank you for your feedback.

Great product - just not compatible

This is a great quality seatpost and have used a similar one for years. Unfortunately I need to return this one because it doesn't accommodate my Di2 battery. Thought this might be helpful.

Thank you for your feedback.

Simply the best seat post for the money.

I use the Thomson Elite seat post on my mountain bike and cross bikes. It works well and is easy to adjust for saddle positions. Nothing fancy about it, but the design is flawless and it competes in weight with many carbon posts.

Thank you for your feedback.

Excellent Quality

Replaced a Salsa seatpost with the Thomson. The Salsa was very nice, but the Thomson quality is amazing.

Its lightweight and strong and it looks great on my 2009 Cannondale Bad Boy Disc. Great price also from Bike Tires Direct.

Perfect seatpost for my bike

I bought a Nishiki Alien from my son and have been using it for a while with a seatpost that was a bit too short for me. This seatpost is nice a long and has made the bike a great fir for me. Very strong, and i love the black color.

Thank you for your feedback.

Tried and true design

i bought this seatpost to replace one on a new bike, which was difficult to adjust. Thomsons are always easy to dial in and stay exactly where you set them. Their weight is comparable to more expensive carbon posts at a substantially lower price point. When BTD runs special sales, Thomsons offer exceptional value.

Thank you for your feedback.

Love this seatpost

I have this same seat post on another bike I own and love its adjust-ability. I ordered one for my current bike to replace the Oval seat post that came with my new bike. Not only is the seat level easier to adjust but it is lighter seat post. Great bang for you buck!!

Thank you for your feedback.

Great seatpost, won't fit Di2 battery

I am using a 27.2mm on my Specialized and love it. I ordered the 25.4mm for my C'Dale. The BT-DN110 Di2 battery won't fit inside the post.

Thank you for your feedback.

Functions flawlessly, one of the best posts ever.

This is among the best seatposts on the market. Hasn't changed in 10 years or so, still strong, still light, and comparable in weight/stiffness to most high-end carbon posts out there-but cheaper and more durable.

The lack of setback will mess with your position a little bit if you're used to a post with a setback (i.e. most road posts), and the clamp is a little different from most styles of clamp, but I actually prefer it-the two-bolt design makes it really easy to adjust your saddle fore-aft without losing your level.

This is the 3rd of of these that I've purchased (including one in 2002), and they're all in great shape, the other two posts I've used in that time have had all sorts of weird issues. Thompson Elite FTW, again.

Thank you for your feedback.

Light and Stiff

For those of you carbon fanboys who think you need a carbon seatpost, think again. This is light, stiff, strong and one of the easiest posts to adjust on the planet. It's really okay to use alloy parts, I promise.
